Question for diapered frequent flyers?

I have worn a diaper on every flight I’ve been on on the last 20 years. And I fly about 10 times each year. In all that time I have never been flagged because of the diaper. I always make sure it’s dry and no problem.

This last weekend I visited my father for the weekend and flew from Denver to Phoenix and back. In Denver TSA flagged me and ended up having to go to the private screening room to display my diaper. Just thought it was a one off, no big deal, then on my way back I was flagged in Phoenix. I was pushed through after a pat down. My question is to all other frequent flyers that wear diapers is,
Has something changed?
Can I expect to be patted down every flight from this day forward?
What do you think?
 
I took 6 flights in Jan, and for the first month in years I didn't get a pat down once. I don't worry about changing and wear an NRU Str8UP blue with 3 stuffers through the scanner usually a bit wet if not soaked. Not so much as the normal crotch blotch on the screen that I'm used to. Heck, on my way home from Denver on Sunday I walked through an X-ray with general boarding and not even my titanium back brace set it off. I was wondering if the other 5-flights through backscatter machines had been adjusted to skip diapers. No complaints if they did, but it's been nice to breeze through without so much as a pat down at the scanner.

I have flown 10 flights this year and been through security diapered 5 times already this year and have not been pulled aside (thankfully). Each time my suitcase has been full of diapers. I have been dry each time I go through security in a thick Rearz Daydreamerz. TSA Pre-check is a lifesaver for sure.
 
I fly to a business conference every year and never had a problem. On flight out no issue but dallas love airport the same thing happend to me. I was wearing an abena M4. I got brought into a small room and had to show them my diapers
 
Things do change, and if there was some chatter about a threat using diapers or pads then might be checking them right now.

I know there is supposed to be no profiling, but that is the olny way that things could get caught in the queues as if they were to check every little anonomoly then youd be in line for 10 hours.

But, questions aside on if it really helps and is even useful aside as that is a whole other conversation. I know that certain times there will be more scrunity based on any intel.

Look at the kid that got arrested for a private chat with friends that said about blowing plane up (think was spain?) was supposed to be encrypted and they read it real time and had a jet escort the plane to landing, so things DO get looked at even overseas (not that this exact example was approporate) and your end to end encrypted private chat room is not so private either.

So, if they see there is more chatter from POI and/or there has been things found in say the crotch area (Not necessarly diapers per se) yyoull likely see more checks.

Makes sense. I was only assuming there was a technological upgrade or something. Didn’t even think about an intel up tic.

There may be a tech update on the software, as there are updates all the time, but they could see a diaper many years ago without an issue.

You ought to see the actual image without it cartoonized on the display. Can easily see the layers of clothes, skin, even wrinkles will show up :)

But, yeah i'd think it's more about any intel update/uptick...

I used to do security years ago, till 2010 and what was available these was totally insane and i highly doubt it got worse.

But, i know on the systems you could load profiles to highlight different types of things and you can easily change the profiles over the network, so if there is something you want to look at more this week you can update/change the profile to look closer at certain things/density/area/shapes/etc. Like say you really wanted to look for a specific item like a shank or a nail or alike you can adjust the threshold on the system lower to highlight possible items like that, getting some more false positives but also less possibilities of missing it.

I'd assume they have them setup to be quickly adjustable to do things like this without the operator even knowing of the change and they are just looking for the flags on the system for the most part.

With the newer AI it ends up even more advanced, I have an AI server running on my security cameras looking for people, cars, license plates, guns, faces, etc...So my place looking for known people and known cars etc to not even put a flag on the system as i dont care if my van came on/out with me or my pca in it, etc. And if there is unknown people will send a clip to me and the security company real time, works really good, AI is changing the game on things, no longer really care about motion sensing really at all, or to block out an area, even will alarm if say something like a lawn chair dissapears which is cool.

That is commercial and the govt ai's are going to be much more advanced and trained way better. Then havig the high res multi axis 3d scanner really gives the system the ability to see just about everything.
 
interesting i was just in denver they said it was a random check too. i have clear and TSA precheck. they has a female come over to wand me down first then a pat down and question me about the " anomaly ". i fly about every month with my dadda for some reason. for the most part never had much trouble. i have learned over the years never go through the scanner with a very wet diaper. A tsa counterpart in italy told me after i failed and had to be padded down and taken to a room. i ask i was wearing incontinence garment when i said yes, she told me that i might in the future try to have a drier one on when going through. oh i did have to show them it. they did apologized afterward and thank me for my cooperation.
 
I always fly diapered, and never get pulled aside for it. Because of prosthetics, I can't do the magnetometer. Always use the full scanner thing. Some countries only have the mag, and they wand me after that predictable fail. Having said that, I haven't flown since December. Things may have changed.
 
ive noticed an increase in posts about being flagged at tsa security checks since the conflict between israel and palestine started. i wonder if theyre taking extra precautions and checking more thoroughly than before because of that

Yep, not saying it was a good call, but somehow there must be some sorta chatter going on about this, as it's too many tmes to be just random over the last while, and i'm sure there is some increased scrutinity over iran and such going on as well.

Basically, yeah best if you can go through as dry as you can, but not much you can do about standig in line for however long before the scanner.
 
What’s changed it’s the amount of chatter of internal domestic terroristic chatter among Trump supporters and a huge spike of foreign terror chatter and planning against the US . So potential airline threats is having the “perfect storm” so everything is getting maximal scrutiny .
 
Ok… have two more flights in the next month. Guess I’ll plan on some more time at security. 🤷‍♂️

If you use the same airport just pop the question with TSA ( get some of that speedi pre check being husband ) LOL

I make no assertions, but the hardest times I've had with TSA (and about the only extraordinary encounters) have been at DIA and Skyharbor. Not my favorite airports. For context I average 100 flights a year in the lower 48.

What about donning the diaper in a family restroom on the south side of security? I’ve done this before and it works great.
 
I always go through TSA in regular briefs and then change into a diaper that I carry in my carry-on after security.
