No heat. Put him in the freezer at 0 degrees for a couple of days if you were really worried. Deep cold will kill them just as well as heat does. ;) (And it won't ruin plush like heat does.)

And I'm certain there is more than one, but the D-Con is a slow-acting poison. So it could just be two or three munching away on it. I checked and the last bar is still sitting there with two bites taken out. So it seems that they've started getting ill from it. D-Con can take up to 4 days to kill them. It works slowly on purpose so that they don't take four bites and go "Oh, my stomach is hurting. I better not eat anymore!" and not get a lethal dosage. Then they recover and teach the other mice in the area "Don't eat that stuff." The D-Con 'bars' are actually like little tablet things. About an 1 x 2 inches and about a half-inch thick.

Anyway! Away from the gross mouse stuffs! MOAR CUTE BEARS!

Does anyone remember those "Bubba" bears from the late 90's? He would talk and say crazy things. XD https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ziMkhxu-4w

Well...I'm sure he's bedbug free now, and I may try the freezer in a last-ditch effort if something goes wrong. Unfortunately, the freezer is out in the open, and my mother would see him and cause drama at best or hurt Teddy at worst. I don't remember Bubba bears, but I found the commercial! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CEX417t5ivA Seeing that, am I the only one who imagined being one of the kids in the commercial?
