Have any of you ever been in a situation while wearing that you felt like you were trapped?
Recently, I was on a road trip with two others and found myself feeling very trapped. I am urinary IC during the day (poor control) and wear at night. I wear heavier diapers at night but can get away with lighter protection when necessary during the day. We had spent the night at a hotel and hit the road early in the morning when something started kicking me in the gut early on into the final day of the trip.
It was horrible, I knew that something was wrong and if I had been by myself I would have had no problems relieving myself in the car, but I just couldn't let that happen as a passenger in someone else's car with other people. It was agonizing.
I still don't know why or what triggered my pain, but it would come in acute bursts lasting ten minutes or so. I could feel myself leaking slowly back there, thank god it was mostly "water" and no actual mass. I counted my lucky stars that I had elected to wear a couple of Always Discreet (excellent odor neutralization) for the trip that day.
We made stops along the way and often enough I was able to relieve, clean, and change myself. I changed into more appropriate padding but still pulled on an Always Discreet for the odor protection over the more substantial protection. But this also lengthened the trip considerably which just added to the horrible feeling of being trapped with no relief in sight.
The people I was with are very understanding, and I'm sure they would've understood completely without judgement. But a confined space like a car is a long time to be trapped with another adult who might be "loaded". I made it home without a major accident but I was absolutely drained, sore, and tired from the effort. It was not a fun day.
