Ever pay it forward?

I regularly give money to several charities, and my partner and I are currently helping a young refugee get himself settled in Canada.

Isn't there a distinction from just giving to chatity, versus paying it forward for the next person behind you?

To me there's a great difference, some charitiy just don't give the money the way they should, so I feel like paying forward is a better idea cause it go directly to someone that is in need.

People helping each other directly otherwise you end up with trumps former charity were people donated money that he lavished on himself rather then helping a real charity or god forbid he directly gives someone a hand up .
