Doctor's appointment: just a diaper or a diaper with panties?

I had a kidney stone blasted into bits yesterday, have been passing blood ever since. Doc says it should stop in a day or two. In the recovery room I wet the bed big time. The nurse came in, had me get up so she could change the bedding and then help clean me up. She actually got a wash cloth and towel, and cleaned me up. She gave me some mesh panties to wear home and a pad to go with them, as I was going to spot the rest of the day. She told me to wear my regular panties over them. I slipped into the pink panties I wore into the hospital and got dressed, she just smiled and said they are cute on you. Super nice lady, very, very helpful and she didn't care if I wore panties or not. Pain yesterday was really bad, getting better today, having the stent removed next week.

I prefer plastic backed disposable diapers and will just wear the diaper under normal clothing. If I am wearing a cloth backed disposable diaper I either wear panties or plastic pants over the diaper because a wet cloth back diaper sags too much and the panties or plastic pants keep the diaper from sagging. I actually like the look of panties over the cloth back diapers; some variety with different colors or prints on panties. I know a onesie will do the same thing but I am just not interested in onesies.
Yeah, the compress you load I guess that oils be a good thing . For modesty purposes although I tend to have big accidents and it becomes hard to walk nornmal.

Clean diaper under your pants/skirt. Panties only if they help hold it up. Own that diaper!
P.S. Professionals see it all the time and it's one of the last things they're concerned with unless it's what you're there for.

I saw my urologist last Wednesday, she removed the stent I had in my ureter from the kidney stone I had smashed. I have some Prevail Women's Daily Underwear, they are real comfy pull ups, lavender with a little ruffle around the legs, wifey says they are cute. I wore when I had the stent removed, the doctor and nurses didn't care. As a matter of fact, one of the nurses who helped me get dressed afterward asked me if I needed a maxi just in case I leaked. All of the folks at my doctor's office are very understanding.

I've found that my urologist and everyone in his office are understanding too. They told me they see people shaved and in diapers all the time.

A 2017 survey revealed that 17% of men and 57% of women completely shave or otherwise remove pubic hair, so I'm sure all doctors see it routinely. Urologists, of course, would normally see people in diapers regularly, and something like 5% of the population wears incontinence protection of one sort or another. I would also guess that a higher percentage of incontinent people shave, just because it makes cleanup so much easier.

This really doesn't count but I wore diapers to my annual ophthalmology appointment the other day. They put in drops to dilate your pupils, so probably didn't notice my momentary stare as I wet my diaper☺️

Since I wear 24/7 anyway I never think to not have a diaper on. In the last 5 days I've seen my Primary Doctor and the Ear, Nose & Throat Specialist I see for allergies, all while diapered. On a side note; both doctors have the same diagnosis for what I thought were different issues. My diet has suddenly become very bland, with a lot of fiber.

Whether I wear a diaper to a possible face to face with my GI doc will be determined by the telephone consult I have set up to discuss possible IBS. I’m not planning on bringing up diapers, but he has access to my records so we will see.

I decided to go with diapers + jeans. It was a bit weird.
I had to undress. Standing only in a bra and quite wet diaper was... humiliating. I survived...
You did well I am sure :)
Wearing panties that cover the diaper can hide that is wet if that makes you feel uncomfortable, so it may be a good idea. And no worries if they are more grand-ma style panties to cover it well

I tend to wear underwear over my diaper, idk it might just be a habit. I do think it help add another layer of discretion

I agree, I wear granny panties most of the time over my pull ups, have always had a little fetish panties, they are so much more comfy than men's briefs for me

Careful, your eyes are said to be the windows to your soul do your ophthalmologist might have seen more than you thought!

No one in the medical field is going to care either way...
Nor should they.

When I went for a cystocopy 2 weeks ago I wore an abri San #10 under underwear, when the nurse asked me to take off the underwear i was worried the pad would no longer be fixated to catch leaks but it was that or soaked underwear from the water outlet of the cystoscopy. (They forgot to open a valve and I got water all over me xD)

When finished i sat up and instantly leaked a gush of urine so the nurse gave me 2 towels to clean up everything.

The only comment i got from the urologist is that he's still surprised i prefer to be in diapers over using intermittent catheters but he had no problem with this decision and once the lockdown is over he'd proceed to open things up again, much more than last time.
(It was not a negative comment, more surprised, he's very understanding)
