And how absorbent would you say almost a big kid absorbs
 
Bumping this up as I've been looking at the site. Look very cute overall and I was wondering if it would be practical to wear over a diaper as almost a cover for a more aesthetic look?

Probably not. They have a trim, underwear-like fit, which means you'd have a lot of diaper poking out above the waistline and possibly other places. If that doesn't bother you, then party on. It might look a little silly, though. IMO.

And don't forget that these aren't waterproof.
 
They are fun to watch "diaper trained" toddlers wear. They feel enough like diapers that people might let go but don't hold much in so wet spots result.

With plastic pants you can fully wet them at least once.
 
I got a pair of those for my wife and I love how they look on her, not sure how they hold up to wetting as she does not wet them.
 
I like these at my main undergarments to wear at night. Very comfy with my PULs.
