Often enough that I get a Christmas card from the local BMW dealer. 😂

I see my urologist six times a year, my gastro doc at least four times a year (plus more if things start flaring up), then all the usual stuff like primary care and dermatology annual appointments.

Hard to say - often is probably the best way to put it. I am only 41 yrs old lol not that old yet too have this many doctors. ;)

Diagnosed with relapse remitting MS back in 2016; neurologist 2 times this year, mri, urologist x2 one including a cystoscopy; came back clear even though I am still peeing blood; saw nephrologist and still do not have an answer as to why I am peeing blood. Regular family doc 4 times this year; psychiatrist 2 times; psychologist 4 times used to be weekly. Blood work have completed like every 2 weeks so my nephrologist, family doctor, and neurologist can monitor my blood work. Probably also due to the fact that I am changing my main MS medication so they need to monitor certain values in the transition.

Oh the joys and in the great scheme of things my incontinence I don’t even concern myself with it just is. ;)

Cheers

Jason

Interesting regarding PSA levels as there is a shift underway which is moving away from PSA testing unless one is activity transitioning (shift) on the scale.
I hate to hear this! If I had had regular PSA tests I would have had my prostate cancer diagnosed earlier and even been able to keep it. I was told my my GP that the test was inaccurate and unnecessary so I didd not have it done. Then, purely by chance a nurse, who was taking bloods for another problem said “when did you last have a PSA”? She added it to the list of tests and two days later I was called in to see the urologist.
Have the test, especially if you are over 50, and keep a regular chart of what the numbers are and you will know if there is an upward trend, then you can catch it early.

I'm over getting dragged to see another Dr. I would like a year or 2 of nothing new happening. Minus the yearly or cold visits.

I just discussed this with my urologist yesterday. I'm having surgery to remove my rectum and anus, and asked him how we could monitor my prostate. He told me that PSA can go up for lots of reasons (false positives), but that it almost always goes up when there's cancer (few false negatives). Without the ability to do a digital rectal exam, we can keep a close eye on my PSA and he'll send me for an MRI if there are any changes.

This sounds dreadful, I hope it goes well. He is right (obviously, he’s a surgeon and I am not) the PSA can be easily influenced but it does give a trend which is worth watching. Get it done with the DRE (which I understand can only feel half of the prostate). When you have the test just make sure you don’t masturbate/have sex for two days before as that will send the result up. I am going in next week for an oesophagus problem, and like ‘littlefun’ I am fed up with leaving bits of my body in hospitals, but you know what … I am still here and enjoying life!

I've been seeing the same doctor (internist) for 10 years. And I see him twice a year (mostly to follow my IC). Things hasn't changed in the time I've been seeing him. So nothing has changed. I'm still F & U IC. He was the one who suggested to adjust my diet (mostly just healthy and more fiber). From this my F-IC is more regular (one BM per day [usually], the same time everyday [early morning]). I still experience strong of urgency (when I'm awake). He also suggested to use internal deodorants (I had complained about odor). Since then I've been using Nullo. I think it's important to see your doctor regularly. Aside my IC I'm pretty healthy.

I see a lot of doctors regularly, most are for my transition. Becoming IC at age 23 was somewhat troublesome, the doctors are still debating whether it was the stress of the pandemic or something wrong with the vaccine (No conspiracies please!) Okay I'll try to give some numbers. I'm only seeing a dermatologist in case of unusual rashes. I learned how to properly treat the occasional diaper rash myself. I'm seeing my urologist about once every two months, mainly hormone prescriptions and checkups. Personally I don't like psychologists, but I still meet up with one about every six months.

I see my Urologist twice a year for a bladder cancer check, recently I was found cancer free, also I still have mantainence treatments 3 very six months

I see my GP once a year unless I have any health issues. Fortunately, I have not had any since covid .:)

I see my Dermatologist twice a year to stay ahead of any new skin cancer.

I don’t have a doctor unfortunately! It’s very hard to find one in BC so I’d have to go to a medicentre or the emergency room at the hospital if I was in urgent need of something.

I’ve been very fortunate to be healthy and not need to pay the doctor a visit. Must be all the apples I’m eating 😃
After about 10 years of having the same doctor I found out I have to find a new one because my doctor is leaving his practice. Hopefully I am able to find one

I see my general health doctor 2 times a year. My urologist i might see 2 times a year, he keeps suggesting surgery, to me the cons outway to pros so im not going to do it. Diapers feel like the beter option the the risks.

I see my doctor every 6 months I have an entire team of doctors I have to see. When I see my dermatologist I have to take all my clothes . And I just leave my Huggies pull-up's on. Because he and she has to do a full count of the lumps that grow on my body. Takes about 30 minutes. Then I have to see my neurologist. For my MRI'S that takes 2 hours to complete. Then again no clothes just my pull-up's no gown. Don't need one. I don't have a choice then to wear my pull-up's when I see my doctors. When I see my doctors. I'll eat her wear my pull-up's or a pampers diaper. Sometimes I'll wear my toddler underwaer. To cover my diapers.. then I see my Dentist he's conciderd as a doctor in denial since. I see him every 6 months. Thank you.

Myself, I see too many doctors.

I see GP every 2 months, Neurologist 4 times a year, Spine specialist every 2 months, Endocrinologist 2 times a year, heart dr 2 times a year, specialist for my BP/Autonomic Nerve Issues, every other month, Urologist 4 times a year, and always some special tests 4-8 times a year where i have to go.
This is a low time, I havent been in the ICU now since feb 22, 3 years since dying, and overall been getting less drs as i've dropped a few, like sleep doctor, motor function, migraine, etc. Just see them if needed at this time, too many appointments, got one tomorrow, previous appoint was friday last week, they dont even let up for the 4th week.

In 2021 when I was really bed wetting almost every day I didn’t seek for help because my old therapist thought that was emotional, one kind of regression, but then I stayed almost two years dry and now I started wetting again, but not often, but my new therapist want me to seek help, I try but I got an appointment only for September maybe until there it is gone again

When I was younger I would visit my doctor at least 4 or 5 times a year. My condition has almost steady and now that I'm older I only see him twice a year. I also have a therapist and I used to see her once a month. My mom requested to see her when I was around 10. So I've seen her for over than 20 years (once per month). Since I finished college I see her quarterly (which a kind of a pain in the ass - travel for ~ 120 + miles). I consider the cause irrelevant here but I'll say the condition is still "steady." To be honest, the condition hasn't changed anything for 25 years.

How often you see your doctor? Have you ever met with a therapist? I know it's personal but I'm trying to gauge what the IC members do.
Doctors and therapist is kind of what works best for you no one size fits all. for general health i see my doctor every six months and long with blood unless something there is an issue than i see my doctor quarterly but than i am blessed with good health insurance. As far as a therapist i have seen a therapist for many years once a week for it is a great way to stay grounded in life (a sounding board). Both doctors and therapist are long term relationships so you have to connect with so shop around until you find a good match. A good doctor and therapist you should be able to have open discussions and be able to express disagreements with respect.

Every six months with this doctor. + VA annually.

usally every 2 weeks
