i have never had an issue with the airlines for the staff have always been super cool and helpful. IC supplies have always been classified as medical devices in my experience no one has questioned it. it is a rare thing that they actually go into your bag but always be prepared just in case. the very few times someone has looked into my bag they didn't remove anything just had a look inside. Same thing international (some reason in Mexico security stops me every time LOL) a quick look inside when they ask me to open my bag and a few standard questions that are asked of everyone they check. They are just looking for stuff you shouldn't be traveling with. Still always polite and professional. The very rare times that my checked bags have been checked which happen after my bags have been checked in and headed to the plane TSA leaves a note inside your bag letting you know they opened it while they had custody. Nothing was disturbed in my bag and if it wasn't for the note i would never have known they opened it. Funny part is when TSA has looked inside it was my other bag not the one with diapers. also i good idea is to check in with the gate agent before boarding so they know up front you have an extra bag tagged as medical device that you are carrying on. Great thing about diapers those can go as checked luggage. Airline staff are there to help not judge.Jellyfish said:This is good advice. I just logged into my upcoming flight and found that Sprit does indeed have a box that you can check for assistive devices. They give the examples of "CPAP, nebulizer, ventilator, respirator, cane, walker, etc." but I would assume that incon. supplies fit the same category. I also found this when I click the lille "info" icon next to the checkbox:
Bold text is mine. I am hopeful that a few discreet spot checks of medical bags will keep the scammers at bay so that actual medical supplies can board without tearing the bag apart every time.
