Were you still wearing diapers at 10?

I was still wearing diapers at around 10 years old in the night, although I think it was a bit sooner, like 9 years old

Do you think they enjoyed keeping you in diapers? Or was it more that it was convenient for them? Most parents want their child out of daytime diapers as soon as possible because of the cost, but it sounds like yours looked for opportunities to put you back in them. I’d be curious to hear if you’ve ever had any conversations with them about it as an adult, and how they explained it.
 
I was in night nappies until I turned 13 it wasn't great as my younger sisters were dry by then, and the whole routine was long.

At 10 I was still put in a pull up for any long trips or full days out, where I might sleep or get tired from the long day, which in leggings always made me a little self conscious until I settled

I know that feeling, But I luckily did not have that many accidents during the day at that age.
How about you?, was it more of a daytime precaution or did you actually need them?

I think only once or twice I used them, but it was when parents knew I was protected and therefore I think the detour to a toilet wasn't worth the effort, which meant for an embarrassing chanhe at our destination. Most of the time I never needed them though

It’s interesting to me that your parents told you pull-ups were precaution, but when you were in pull-ups, they didn’t make an effort to help you find a bathroom. It sounds like it was more convenient to let you wet yourself and put you in a diaper after. Do you think they anticipated you wouldn’t make it even if they tried to get you to a bathroom, or do you think they figured it was no big deal for you to wet yourself, so it was easier on everybody for you to use your nappy for its intended purpose?

Would you tell them when you had to pee or did you just relax and let it happen without letting them know?

They're not always the easiest memories to recall as they're mainly remembered for the embarrassment. I think they set plans with no buffer for children who might need to derail slightly. I'd ask to go I remember that, and could hold on for a time. I think the responses on the occasions I wet were that we wouldn't be able to stop for a while, and then they reminded me that I had a pull up on.

I think me using the pull ups were the easiest option. We'd not then pull over to change I'd be wet until our next intended stop. If I'd used up the stock I had a much younger sister and would be squeezed into her nappies for the rest of the trip, which I really tried to avoid

Did you need that reminder? I have memories of being in precautionary diapers, asked to go pee, but got the answer at wasn't possible due to somethin, and that I had to wait. most often I did try and managed to stay dry, but sometimes I just gave in and wet. never asked for permisson or told that I wet, I would be changed soon enough anyways, however as embarrassing that was...

When they told me that I was wearing a pull up, it almost conditioned me to thinking that it was so long to a stop that I'd probably not be able to hold on, and so I'd have an accident shortly after because I'd stop thinking about holding it in. It wasn't as big of a deal as we're talking around late 2000s, so it never felt like I was sat in a damp nappy because they absorb so well. It would take so long to even get out if the car as I'd need to be unbuckled from the car seat and then walked to the toilet if at a rest stop, so I'd give in pretty fast

I do envy that. Nowadays being both a DL and a Little, wearing my night time diapee of choice tonight, and that is a Tykables Overnights. Very absorbent and dry feeling. I wish I had the chance to wear diapers like those, when I was young.
Leaks did happen then and they were more embarrassing than wearing the diaper...

The lack of ever needing my clothes changing was the only relief from this. They were great, but were quite big and because of how much liquid they held there'd be a notable bulge. I doubt anyone noticed but I presumed everyone would be looking as I went to the bathroom to be changed

Well I never wore them for obvious reasons, but were they comfortable to sit in when they were wet, or do you think that a wet nappy was more comfortable to sit in? Did they bulge in the same way? No, I don't really people other than maybe DL's notice that. But I do remember how embarrassing it felt regardless...

Looking back at my constant bedwetting and the secrecy and embarrassment that came with it; I actually wish I was diapered overnight until it quit. Cold wet sheets, soaked clothes and early am showers are not fun.

totally agree! My parents stopped buying diapers for me when I was 8, and for the next three years, I suffered the same misery. Fortunately, when I was 11 in my bedwetting hadn’t stopped my mom decided to get adult diapers for me to wear on a road trip we were taking. As embarrassing as it was to be put back in diapers, it was such a relief to not have to wake up in cold wet sheets.

that was me! i was a bedwetter up until i was i think 12 or so, it's hard to remember exactly when i stopped due to having Dissociative Identity Disorder and having very poor memory of most of my life, but especially my childhood. i was in diapers and had plastic sheets, and because i've always been fat (and sort of tall) i ended up having to wear adult sized diapers before my bedwetting stopped. i honestly don't remember how much of it impacted my life outside of one time, my 6th grade class took a field trip to somewhere far enough away that involved staying in a hotel overnight. my mom had to take time off of work to be a chaperone for the entire trip so that she could hide and dispose of my diapers before anyone saw. my mom was very abusive, but i did appreciate this! i think she was more worried about the stress of people finding out that her kid was still in diapers, because she had already had to talk to the principal of my school a lot due to persistent bullying. i think she was just trying to spare herself that stress down the line, but either way, that was nice!

i am honestly pretty sure i was totally neutral to the experience. i just wore diapers to bed for most of my childhood and it didn't affect me much. it was just my underwear and i really preferred not waking up cold and wet in the middle of the night! i remember the crinkle of my plastic sheets being comforting if anything because i knew i was safe. it didn't bother me!
 
Actually I essentially potty-trained myself before the age of 3, said "No diapers. Never again. You can't make me" and that was that.

What I'm trying to say is, fate has a funny sense of humour

I honestly have no idea what the difference was when wet. I never felt too uncomfortable in either when they were wet, although I'd often be wearing the store branded pull ups. But I don't remember that they looked much different and they were both treated as the same thing

Nah, you were probably just fine as long as your mother didn't hold a fresh nappy in her hand while going there to change you.
