My mom is traveling to Italy next month. I haven't been ant where except Sigonella. She isn't planning to go to Sicily what are some good places near Rome?

Naples is close to Rome and you can take a boat to Capri from Naples.
Also the Amalfi coast is just south of Naples and it is spectacular. Also Pompeii is not too far.
Why did you mention not going to Sicily? I enjoyed my visit to Sicily.
