Today is the 25th anniversary of the death of my all-time favourite singers, Dusty Springfield. She was a bit of a contradiction in terms - in the recording studio she knew what she wanted in regards to how a song should sound. But she was insecure about her looks.

As a Dusty fan, I have come across some connections with me-

(1) She died on March 2nd(1999) - I was born on March 2nd (1963).

(2) She was short-sighted - I'm short-sighted (in fact I wear glasses).

(3) She was bisexual (at least I think she was) - I'm bisexual.

(4)She was a fan of soul/R&B music- I am as well.

My all-time favourite Dusty song is "I Can't Make It Alone" from the classic "Dusty in Memphis" album.

I'll probably be playing some Dusty songs later on. God rest your soul, Dusty - you were (and still are) one of the greatest.

I loved Dusty...she did a wonderful collab with Pet Shop Boys on "What Have I Done to Deserve This?" She did indeed have a really good voice! Rest in Peace, Ms. Springfield...no relation to Rick, who has never been "Bruce". 🤭

Dusty had a voice that could make me melt.
