Sadly, since this was bought when I was very young and now my folks have sold off everything to move "again", am certain he was sold with everything else aswell.

I am aware that it could be a Canadian manufacturer

Just wondered if someone else out there has or may know any details

if size matters Costco sells large & super extra large bears
unfortunately not cheap for big stuffed animals

Costco bear is more than twice the size of that one.

They have a smaller version
there is a 7 foot & 4 foot version at costco
 
I didn't see any available on Costco Canada website sadly.

especially around Christmas
