This thread remjnds me of a few similatities to gay people who were openly gay back in the 80s and 90s. While not the same situation, I do recall a majority of gay people back then would criticize and even harass another gay person who was openly gay. They too would say it was to be kept hidden, not attact attention them.
Now some 30 years later a vast majority of our society won't even bat an eye when they see two guys holding hands. I have to say, I really do hope abdls are folloing the same general path towards being accepted.
