The AR-15 is the civilian counterpart to the M16. The AR-15 came first in 1947, and the M16 a decade later. They have the same magazine capacity: 30 rounds. The former is heavier, with a shorter range and slower rate of fire, but these are subtle differences. Overall, the weapons are pretty similar. The AK series is a different type of rifle altogether. It was designed by Mikhail Kalashnikov in 1947 and has been produced in many countries since then. The AK-47 is a selective-fire, gas-operated 7.62×39mm assault rifle, first developed in the Soviet Union by Mikhail Kalashnikov. It is officially known in the Soviet documentation as Avtomat Kalashnikova (Russian: Автомат Калашникова). It is also known as the Kalashnikov rifle.CrossfireDiaperHurricane said:An AR-15 type rife including a M-16 or an AK series. They are known for killing during war and regular people (or students). Not animals. I couldn't imagine shooting a deer with an assault rife. Maybe a 30-30 rifle or a shot gun.
How Does a Shotgun Work?
- The shotshell is loaded into the gun's chamber, and as you close the action, the firing pin is pushed back and held under spring tension.
- When you pull the trigger, it releases the firing pin, which strikes the primer.
- The sparks from the strike ignite the gunpowder, expanding inside the shell and converting it into gas.
- This gas then pushes the shot outside of its exterior body, and a loud bang is heard as the shot and wad escape the barrel.
- The wad opens up, and all of the bearings inside spread, also called a shot cluster.
How Does a Regular Rifle Work?
- As the trigger of a rifle is pulled, the firing pin is released and pushed forward to strike the primer found at the bottom of the cartridge case.
- A spark is created, which ignites the gunpowder.
- The gas converted from this expands rapidly, pushing the bullet from the cartridge and out of the barrel.
