Your Top Five/Ten/Twenty Christmas Songs?

My favorites are always the ones I don't hear in November.

Cynicism always bumps up at Christmas.
True, true.
To be clear though, the spirit of Christmas (love, giving, community) is something I value. I just don’t think those things are what commercialized Christmas has turned into.
It’s also over exposure to the same handful of Christmas songs over and over.

The Pogues, has to be the best. Pretenders close second. That's it.

Any Christmas song that can work-in the lyrics ‘You scumbag, you maggot - You cheap lousy…’ has to be the best! It’s tipped to be this year’s Christmas No.1 in the UK and Ireland. Chris Rea’s Driving Home For Christmas also resonates with me as I have spent so many hours of my life ‘Top to toe in tailback’ on the M25 and M3 around Christmas over the years.

Bound to be nr one this year. Saw Chris Rea on that fishing programme with Bob Mortimer. Totally f############# from the result of his life style. Liked his earlier music but Christmas songs are always there to bring in some easy cash between albums/touring. And those f########### Christmas bells. Don't get me wrong, love Christmas but you skip the music.

Well, here's my top 5 Christmas songs

1. Stop the Cavalry (Jona Lewie)
2. Apocalypso (Mental as Anything)
3. Feliz Navidad (both Jose Feliciano and Boney M versions)
4. The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don't Be Late) from Alvin and the Chipmunks
5. Fairytale of New York (Pogues)

1. Fairytale of New York “No Use For A Name” cover
2. I Won’t Be Home For Christmas “Blink 182”
3. Capital Lights “His Favorite Christmas Story”

That’s about all I can think of at the moment
