diapers or toilets? which came first

Did you ever wonder which came first diapers or toilets? Did adults just poop and pee anywhere privately? Did teens go into bushes and hide their pee trails within the roots?
In way back in biblical times, did all the people just go wherever they went right on the spot?

Toilets came first.

Initially as a place to (especially) defecate and then increasingly complex.

Nappies on the other hand require a level of resource which could not be spared through the majority of history and prehistory, where subsistence has been the challenge.
