I am going to Cyprus in a few weeks, and I wonder if anyone on ADISC can advise me? I don't particularly want to have to take nappies/diapers with me; not because I am worried about anyone (hotel staff, airport security personnel, etc., knowing I wear - frankly I couldn't care less about that. But a pack of 28 nappies weighs around 6 kilos, so that is a fair chunk of my baggage allowance.

So I was wondering if anyone here knows whether or not it is possible to buy them easily in Cyprus? Can one purchase them in pharmacies, disability stores, etc., as one can in the UK? I am going to Paphos in Western Cyprus.

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Diapers are considered "medical supplies" by most carriers, and those carriers allow one bag of medical supplies for free, so grab a second suitcase and fill it with your diapers, powders, cremes, mats, etc. Just make sure it only contains diaper supplies and nothing else and you should be ok. (they WILL inspect it to make sure it's 100% medical stuff) Of course it'd be a good idea to call and confirm this with your airline in advance though.

As bags can get lost, I'd recommend at least a day's change of diapers in your other bags, in case your diaper bag gets lost or delayed.

I lived in Cyprus for a few years about 10 years ago. Adult nappies were openly available on the supermarket shelves, although not premium brands such as Attends or Abena, more local type ones. They did the job for me. I wouldnt think smaller shops would stock them though. Would need to be a big supermarket. I would also think that pharmacies stock them.

Unfortunately I am not familiar with Paphos so cant advise where to get them from around there.
