If you are lucky, the Urologist will be one of those open and honest types, if you are open and honest with her/him. After a frank and open discussion from you as to what you are experiencing, what your tests you have received and what medications you have tried. There will likely be a discussion regarding your bedwetting, when it started, how often you experiencing bedwetting during any given week, are you watching how much you are drinking before bed and all those potty training questions of the past as they do have an effect.

You will likely begin with a basic urine sample/test (pee in a cup), which commonly empties your bladder and then an ultrasound to determine if you are releasing all your urine. From that basic test and its results will determine where the discussion goes.

My assumption is that you are wearing a diaper at night. If so and as part of be honest, provide that information to the Urologist.

Enjoy, nothing to get excited about.

Well! At least you got a very honest and open opinion from the Doctor!

How do you feel about the findings?

Well, at least your suspicions have been addressed! I am guessing that you know that emotional based incontinence is still consider a source of incontinence. The reality is, you should treat your form of incontinence with the same seriousness as those who have specific medial incontinence as regardless of the reason, the results hides signs of the onset or worsening of organ, illness and emotional issues.

Consider using a Journal to keep track of your type of incontinence and if you see a clear change, report it to your Urologist!

As you said; At least you now have confirmed, of your belief!

@Peepeegirl, You can pursue another doctor's opinion, this is one option.

Many here can attest to seeing multiple urologists/specialists to get to the cause or find one they trust; it can take time. Also, it is odd that no tests like @Edgewater mentioned were done, nor any recommendations for prescriptions (common), physical therapy, follow up. or altering habits and food/drink. Sleep apnea, blood pressure, spinal, there are a host of things we all can rattle off that would cause this. Emotional factors while valid seems like a hard skip/pass on one 30 minute visit before ruling out any physical cause.

Lifestyle aside, is bedwetting something you are comfortable with?

I was referred to the urology clinic when my incontinence became a problem and my bedwetting came back. They carried out several tests and a scan and came to the conclusion that my diabetes which had gone undiagnosed for several years was the cause of nerve damage which in turn causes my bedwetting and daytime incontinence.

I have been going to a urologist for years due to enlarged prostate and occasional peeing difficulty. When my bed wetting started I had a conversation with my doctor and he was very shocked when I stated I was okay with wearing protection at night because I was able now to sleep all night uninterrupted. The normal test was done like the ultrasound and sticking a scope up in my bladder and also multiple prescription drug tries. Frankly, I am okay with wearing a diaper at night and waking up with it fully loaded after a uninterrupted the night's sleep. I have a appointment in a couple weeks and we will talk about this all over again and I'm sure he'll want to try something else. I wonder what his next step will be. Will it be botox or something else.

I am in the same boat as you. I began to wet the bed after brain surgery and frequency has increased. They have taken blood and my PSA numbers are high
