Hey everyone, I figured I would share a little information that I found out regarding medical record sharing amongst doctor’ offices. I recently went to see my PCM and I talked about my urodynamics testing and how happy that I am that my urologist doesn’t know that I’m an ABDL. She smiled and ensured me that my urologist is aware.

She explained that with the use of online medical records, sharing is common place between offices within the same network. She told me that I could walk in to my urologist’s office with my binky like I do with her and no one there would bat an eye. She said in fact, your urologist might be relieved that you feel comfortable enough to discuss it.

She then informed me about a discussion she had with my new urologist. She said that part of the referral process was detailing that I do in fact have incontinence issues but the use of diapers is beneficial for both practicality and mental health reasons. She said my urologist has no issues with me wanting to wear diapers.

Not that I would actually have my binky with my urologist, but this information will help me relax the next time I do see her.

Yea that's the way it works now
everything goes on the computer instead of written in a file folder
so every clinic can just look up your health information number and see every visit test results & notes
but there are strict laws on accessing that information

@BabyHailey1977, @SparkyDog, The team approach is a great improvement, now you don't have to worry (as much) that multiple specialists are not communicating (contradicting) correctly about your health.

That’s what I was thinking too. My gastroenterologist and Urologist have been communicating this way. My gastroenterologist is amazing. She knows that I’m ABDL and trans. This was all brought to light during my first appointment with her. She needed me to get abdominal X-rays and I froze because I was wearing a diaper and a bra under my male clothes. Thats when I told her. When I was done explaining, she asked if I had a feminine name and I said Hailey. She smiled, got up and left. I heard her on the phone explaining to radiology that my name is Hailey and I’m presenting as male today. That “she” is wearing a bra and is really nervous. Sje came back in and told me not to worry about anything.

After the X-rays, I went back to the room with her and she said that I never have anything to worry about. That I can dress either feminine or masculine and will be treated the same. Amazing.

So little to worry about in this modern connected World!
Now, we will see if interactive health continues to grow as smoothly for the medical needs of an old-guy with type II, heart issues and is 24/7, U-IC. I aming guess it will!

That’s awesome how understanding your gastroenterologist is. No snickering, no awkward sly, no blank stares. That’s what I call being taken care of in a professional manner. 👍

As far as I know - this is only partially true.

The doctors/offices need to be on the same computer system. If, like me, you go to several different doctors where they use different software systems, the records don't get transferred.

Wow !!

This connected world is very nice, when everyone behaves as expected, profesionals don't abuse their information and behave ethical. Its not unimaginable that insurance organisations, looking for cost reduction, will instruct doctors etc, to look for "indicators of fraud" like, being DL/AB. (merging social media information with medical records) Is this person really incontinent?
