What do you use as a back up for leaks at night?

What type of product do you use along with your disposables incase of leaks?

Bed pad, plastic/rubber pants, boosters, old news papers, what ever? 😂

I Normally just use my mega max and reusable bed pad, disposable but some times I will use a booster with it. I was looking at waterproof cloth diaper covers. Then I wondered has anyone ever use a size larger all in one fitted cloth diaper over a disposable? Like if it is just a bit bigger to cover all the disposable diaper edges would it not protect against leaks? I don't care about thickness it is just at night and I am not talking about cutting the backs out of the disposable either. The idea is as long as you don't leak you could reuse the cloth one several times before washing just like a bed pad. But only you don't have to worry about the bed pad sliding out from under you if you toss and turn.

I was sick this morning and have been all day, but I did not want to get up this morning and change because of it & I pushed my diaper way to far. I had my bed pad down but I was so uncomfortable with stomach pain, I had rolled around a lot getting comfortable and had pushed the pad out from under me. I had piss get all over my mattress cover, sheets, blanket and a body pillow, that I had been hugging for comfort. So I had thought about it before and had seen the pocket diapers, but looking for them online I seen this other cheap all in one (Link below) and thought I would see how what my people thought about the Idea.

I use a booster in either my disposable or cloth diaper. On top of my disposable, I wear a Dependeco PUL diaper cover, which has a soft liner that will catch the stray leak. And, I always sleep in a bed that has a waterproof mattress protector.

Lastly, my kidneys/bladder do not slow down at night, so I will limit my fluid intake within an hour of bedtime.

My nighttime diapers always have at least one booster pad in them and then I'm also wearing a diaper cover or plastic panties.

I will check it out. I have a mattress protector too. It has cloth topper over a plastic water tight backing. But I still have to pull it off the bed and wash it.
My kidneys don't slow down either. I have sleep apnea bad. They found tit in Oct. or Sept. & I stop breathing 22.5 times a hour and my O2 got as low as 56%. I have both central and obstructive apnea. So I get really poor rest and not much rem sleep. I never dream and if I do I can not remember it. So I am sure my kidneys never realize I am in sleep. I had to wait to get to see a sleep specialist and it took tell the middle of Jan. Then he had me did the test again in the sleep lab with CPAP and it got it down to 6.5 times a hour and 89%. That was done 3 weeks ago this past Sunday. After he got the results he ordered my CPAP from a med supply and I still have not seen it. They kinda freaked out how bad I had this shit and my O2 levels can cause brain damage but yet I still have no Machine. They claim they are waiting on my insurance to approve it, but I got a message from the insurance the day after he sent the script it was approved. So mean while I am just killing brain cells like I have for the last 20 years I never treated it . 😲 I wish they would hurry I doubt I have many left to kill. 😂🤣 Maybe when I get on CPAP my kidneys will slow a little bit at night.

Yeah I had seen and thought of it too. Have you tried it on bed pads?

I wear Depends with a booster pad overnight and then we have have a plastic mattress protector. I have tried the disposable bed pads and platic pants, but they just add to cleanup without eliminating the need to change the sheets.

PUL pants, PROTECBrief, two thick plastic fitted sheets.

I have a waterproof mattress protector *found an ultra plush one that is incredibly comfortable* and I have 3 reusable bed pads. 1 is a full width bed pad that is underneath the top sheet (whatever you call the sheet you literally sleep on top of) and there are 2 reusable bed pads on top of the top sheet. I seldom am able to move well at all from mid October through (at the bear minimum depending on weather) April and sometimes literally can't get out of bed. I use the washable bed pads for the "just in case' aspect as it's a hell of a lot faster and easier to wash a load of soiled bad pads than it is to strip the bed every single time you experience a little leak.

Most of my bed pads were well over a dozen years old and they're still serviceable even though they looked a bit ragged. I finally won my war with the VA and now have over 3 dozen brand spanking new reusable bed pads so my old ones are now used in my Tahoe when I take my dog as he tends to find every ounce of mud within sniffing distance and plays hard with other dogs at dog parks without being aggressive (my last pooch thought she was THE alpha male and was brutal towards every dog who didn't INSTANTANEOUSLY submit to her. She was one AWESOME pooch who sadly died last year but had 14 years of a great life. She was a lab/mastiff mix and at her peak was 89lbs of solid rock with muscles rippling under her black/brown brindled short hair. She was the friendliest dog towards people (and cats for some reason) I've ever seen or had yet because she was "ripped" and had one of the nastiest sounding barks I've ever heard out of dogs 2x her size quite a few people were petrified at the sight of her although all she would ever do to a person is lick them to death and beg for a cookie! I always joked that we were screwed if someone ever broke in as she'd be best friends with them within a second of them giving her a treat or belly rub!

I had so many brand new ones I gave all of my "newer" ones that I had for at least a year or two to a friend who has a lot of health issues from a severe closed head injury and now has incontinence issues, mainly when asleep but refused to wear diapers until recently. He had only ever tried what you can buy in stores and understandably preferred to wear nothing compared to those useless pieces of ****! Once I gave him a handful of Betterdry both him & his wife are 100x happier as she no longer wakes up @ 3:30 in the morning to one hell of a surprise! Not a pleasant one either.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND buying reusable bed pads and though they're not at all inexpensive if properly taken care of (I wash in cold water only and line dry) they'll EASILY last through hundreds upon hundreds of wash cycles. I had some knocking on 20 years old and though they indeed looked the part, they were still usable and kept the rest of my bed dry. The other excellent difference between the cloth reusable pads and the disposable ones is that unless you don't move AT ALL while asleep the disposable ones almost instantly wind up in a crumpled up ball and can't possibly keep anything underneath them dry. The cloth reusable ones are heavy enough that even though I frequently am violently ***JOLTED*** awake (very much feel like I was struck with lightning as I'll be out cold and literally jump VIOLENTLY and sometimes even wake myself (and everyone else) up screaming as I'm still asleep. Those pads have never wound up so out of place that they didn't or couldn't do their job. Thankfully since I discovered the Betterdry I rarely have any major leaks these days although when I'm not feeling well and likely to be asleep for 14+ hours and at the very least restricted to how well I can physically move I do add a Tranquility Super Plus contour booster pad and have had that combination far in excess of 20 hours without any catastrophic leaks. That's great on one hand as nothing (except hearing (C)rap/hiphop/techno etc.) makes me more MISERABLE and ready to literally murder someone than waking up in a cold, wet bed that reeks! The downside to being in any diaper that long is that I go through a lot of diaper rash ointment though thankfully rarely have any rash issues to deal with thanks to heavy application BEFORE changing into a fresh diaper (and sometimes booster pad) for bed.

Hope this helps someone out there. I know there's a few who truly enjoy a wet, stained and smelly mattress but for me I'd quickly lose my mind as I can't afford to be replacing a mattress all that often. They don't give us disabled vets anywhere near the price we paid, unlike the scuzzball politicians who had "Daddy" buy them an exemption from service when the draft was still in effect.

Sorry for the rant..just in horrific pain trying to kill time and not thinking very clearly.

I wet heavily at night and sleep in a combination of a thick disposable nappy such as tena maxi slipSome net fixing pants to keep it in place. Then some padded washable inco pants. Then two pairs of nylon mylesta waterproof pants. My bed is protected with a fitted waterproof cover with a washable bed pad under my flannelette sheet. The flannelette sheet stays warm if my nappy leaks and I stay comfortable despite being wet until I get up in the morning.

I have a good waterproof mattress protector (soft, not crinkly) but am considering booster pads too, as I've leaked twice in the past week. I sometimes also use bath towels for added just in case protection if I am aware that I'm nearing leaking but don't want to change yet.

Washable incontinence pads under the sheet. Then a waterproof mattress protector. Then a vinyl full zip-up mattress cover. I sometimes wear plastic pants over my night diaper but I'm not that worried about leaks. I also have allergy covers over my pillows.

I like to use a Premium Absorbing Diaper such as MagaMax or Crinkz with Gray Active Wear PUL Diaper Cover or Dependence Covers .

Rubber or plastic pants over a disposable. I have found the secret to not getting leaks is to size the plastic pants large enough. Of course no bed would be complete without the security of the rubber sheet for back up.

Oh wow my friend you need to try some online extended wear diapers! Almost anything is better than depends.

Hope you get the CPAP soon! I am actually scheduling a sleep study soon. Never had one. Had sleep terrors as a child. As an adult I’ve had sleep hallucinations, jolts and stopped breathing, the latter is probably central sleep apnea.
