In the near future, anyone wishing to get, or keep, Contributor status under our leveling system will be required to have a forum avatar.
When that change goes into effect, https://www.adisc.org/forum/threads/leveling-up-on-adisc.131782/ will be updated with the new requirements.
In the meantime, existing Contributors with no avatar will see an orange banner alerting them that they need to set an avatar, and if they don't, they'll lose Contributor status in the near future.
Further requirements for Contributor may be added, but having an avatar is a basic one that is going to be added soon.
Any contributor wishing to future-proof themselves against increasing requirements should make sure they have an avatar, and make sure they have more than just 1-2 posts (since raising the minimum post count from 1 to 3 is also being considered).
