Northshore offers free samples if you ask. I don't know if they will let you have ABDL diapers, but you should be able to at least get some NS Supreme Briefs, which are a pretty solid diaper overall.

Actually, I just messed this morning. I don't do it very often at all, though cleanup wasn't nearly as bad as it was last time I messed. I definitely enjoyed the feeling while it lasted, though.

Given her jean size, I think she can easily wear a small adult diaper. What I would do is order samples from ABU or something and get a diaper in sizes small and medium, just to see which one fits best.
