  • Last night, I had a dream about my ex-wife getting me AB items for Christmas. A lot of conflicting emotions been with me all day. I should add that she tried to drug my little side out of me when we were together and I haven’t seen or talked to her in about seven years.

one of my best friends ex brought everything out in court about him while she was in the front being asked leading questions, he was was blown away by it! Sorry to hear that ur ex tried to do the same, my wife in the last six months has told her friends, our 3 daughters and 2 of the oldest granddaughters happen to here and our pastor!

In a lot of ways I actually feel better about getting this weight off my shoulder and I think my wife is actually starting to accept it a little????

@ARBBB2 that sounds really awful for your friend and it sounds like you’ve had some pretty emotionally raw moments, too. Luckily, my first divorce itself was very amicable. No kids, didn’t even see a judge. Just signed a paper and we went out separate ways. I can at least give her credit for that. Hopefully, my current one is smooth and I can be done with marriage for good. I’ve learned my lesson.
I’m getting the feeling that I’m the only person who has heard of the ‘shoegaze’ genre of music, let alone been a devotee. Anyone care to prove me wrong? 🤔

I have heard of it and listened to a few tracks. I think I encountered it from the Adam Neely YouTube channel a while back. I even have a vinyl from Cystal Castles. I think some of there stuff is in that genre.

@LainIsLain Cool! Crystal Castle gets close. I like the solo stuff from Alice Glass (who was in CC)

@Blathers it’s a rock subgenre typically involving walls of guitars, washed out vocals, and an ethereal, dreamy feel. I find it therapeutic to my high anxiety.

Indeed! I actually have a soft spot for Bellevue. Not that I’m a millionaire or care for keeping up appearances; I’m much more a Natty Ice and hockey kind of guy. Yet, I like Bellevue. If - and probably ‘when’ - I move, I’ll probably try to find an apartment around there. I lived there before, I might add.

I don’t like light. I like sunny days, but as for indoor lighting, I almost keep the house completely dark and only use lamps. I think part of it is autism-driven sensitivities, but part is also wanting to prevent catching sight of freaking how old I am.

I say this as a currently thoroughly inebriated AB whose life is falling apart: all you can do is chase the dream. Don’t stop. You can’t. There’s nothing else. Don’t be me and hope you can blend in. We’re doomed to be the forsaken torchbearers of yesteryear. Carry it high.

Three salad truths: 1. Romaine is the worst lettuce on every level, 2. Those individual salad bowls are useless when mixing and half the salad falls out, and 3. Miracle Whip is not dressing; it is all the world’s grief and misery combined into an “edible” format

I recently received a set of their Alpaca Training Pants and they are very comfy! I can't attest to their absorbancy since I haven't "used" them, but when dry, the padding gives off a disposable diaper vibe (although, of course, not as poofy).

You speak for many of us that find the stereotype of Christmas so at odds with our feelings, and a painful reminder of things that never were. Yet the tragedy and irony is that, though we are many, we all feel so alone in our feelings.

I say this not as a cry for help; I’m perfectly fine, merely pensive: I’m finding I like being drunk. More and more. I’m relaxed, and my soul - yearning to be held, to be tucked in, to be mothered - quiets. I can actually be an adult when I’m drunk.

Yep! I drove across on the 90 back in December of 2003, spun out on black ice in daytime near Albert Lea, no damage. Lost 3 hours getting new Blizzaks put on back. Between there and Nebraska, it's like...flat. 😲
