Why don't they say something?

my SO obviously knows I’m wearing and using diapers, and she never ever talks about it, or mention anything containing the D word. Only if I have a leak does she say my pants are wet. But never that my diaper has leaked.

My wife never says the dreaded D word either. She will sometimes mention my "protection" when she's being helpful.

I was completely surprised the other day after a baby diaper commercial aired on TV, that she actually made a joke about how maybe I need to try "whatever brand it was of kids pullups" for more absorbency. All I could say in the moment of shock was a laughing "what?!?!" Anyway, I view humour in that direction as a good thing. Acceptance can be difficult for spouses, even in our old age.
