No offense but the definition of a word and how its used in society can be completely different. Social language structure is not always dictated by the dictionary and it is sorta rude to constantly attack anyone who uses the word fit. You are assuming he is meaning the dictionary statement when majority of people are probably talking in a general manner.
Also not trying to be mean but do you like just sit on this website browsing for the word fit???? It seems like anytime someone says fit you are ready to pounce down on their throat.....
Also weight range is a horrible measure to go off of for goodnites. Goodnites are designed for age range of 15. Meaning if someone has the same body measurements as a 15 year old they would fit.
You can't argue absorbency because
1) the product is only designed for 1 wetting anyways.
2) a 15 year olds bladder size is around 17 oz.
3) a adult bladder is legit goes as low as 16 oz so yes they could.
4) the product is designed to be a lower rise cut so it would fit similar on someone in that age range
5)the product is designed to be thinner for easier walking, so yes it would fit similar to someone in that age range
Finally the dictionary version of fit has more than 1 meaning. You can't pick 1 thing and try and throw out every other clause that would validate his correct use of the word.
Nope, I browse the new entries and updates and comment whenever I see someone post something false or misleading. It's part of my trying to stop the spread of ignorance. I don't attack anyone, only correct their misinformation. And I don't care what word someone misuses, be it love, fetish, fit, or whatever. If someone uses it wrong, I call them out on it. Don't start with using a word wrong, and I won't have to correct you. It's that easy.
And you do know the dictionary gets updated as our language evolves right? Remember when ain't wasn't a word? Well, it's in the dictionary now. The point is it's very much reflects, not dictates, our current social structure.
Also, for those "multiple meanings", context is king here. You have to realise those meanings are applied differently if it's used as a verb, noun, etc. Since we have all been through grade school we all should know those differences when seeing it used in a sentence. At the very least here, that will narrow down most any definition meaning a few possibilities at the most. As example, most often the word fit is used as a verb so you can automatically throw out every other meaning for noun, adjective, and other uses.
Further narrowing the definition can then be easily applied depending on what is being talked about. We aren't discussing nature, mathematical theories, the condition of our physical bodies, and so on. After eliminating everything we aren't talking about you have exactly one possible meaning left- of which applies exactly and is the relavent meaning society as a who uses. So there isn't multiple meanings as only one applies. It's not a difficult thing to understand here. Every 5th grade student gets it, so it's reasonable to expect everyone here should as well.
