Lately I've been getting issues with my Computer telling me I don't have enough storage for a a game, BG3 - 132GB and I have 258GB free space.

I've done Virus and malware scans, storage cleanup, all the things suggested when I search online.

All the Hardware is fine, I opened the computer and checked everything to make sure nothing was loose, dirty or damaged.

When playing games, the computer would reset for no reason, no error messages.

All Drivers are fully updated.

This is the computer I have

Can you attach a screenshot of the error and a screenshot of the amount of space you have left on the disk from inside the windows settings app?

Also can you give more detail on the resetting? What are you seeing? Full system reboot (Asus splash screen), Black screen that goes back to normal in a few seconds, windows errors, etc.

No Error messages, the computer just acts like a normal restart took place, only it's happening in the middle of playing games.

I doubt these problems are linked.

Debugging more than this would involve the event viewer. I think you might be having power supply issues for the shutdowns.

As for the storage, can you post take a screenshot of your remaining disk space and the error you see when trying to install the game

See temperature. Overheated CPU ? - CPU fan works ? And cooler is attached to CPU correctly ? - If all this is OK, so you've SW problem.

Generally speaking most of the time when I have a computer doing a random restart while under a heavy work load like gaming..my experience has been faulty power supply. Occasionally I have had it be a issue with the OS.But the reality is you're gonna have to do some trouble shooting if you don't have a extra power supply to try I'd back up all your stuff on a external drive and reload windows then proceed to update the bios and get all the latest drivers for everything.....and reload your game and see what happens.

I kinda doubt temp. Temp usually leads to severe performance issues as the cpu throttles. If it overheats usually that's considered a BSOD condition, not a restart.

Seconded. Low voltage or noisy voltage can lead to periods where the power is too low and cause the cpu to stop working properly. Usually that's not a BSOD condition either as the cpu will just stop working completely. At the end of the day though, windows is absolutely terrible at logging crash conditions so debugging this stuff is a pain in the butt

All CPU have some termic protection but not sure if it can end on reset. Older machines getting freezed - personal experience.

Yeah but his build is newer looking at the link he gave

Huh...

@Raven801 graphics driver failure? Hardware failure? That seems like a really odd crash.

Indeed.... Low/noisy voltage to graphics card ? Failing ram ??? Too much porn downloaded full of extra curricular software...P.E.B.K.A.C error? I dunno but I think I'd start with a fresh install of windows and go from there .....😳

I think it might be more related to the game I'm play. WoW Classic, a lot of other people had the same problem when playing the Classic.

Their current expansion works perfectly fine.

Thank you, I appreciate people taking the time to help.

You were able to solve everything? Even the storage problem?

Linus tech tips on YouTube.
He's great.

Try redownloading the game clearing your temp (in case that’s full or locked) but I think the best thing to do is run as administrator because it might be trying to write to a place you don’t have access too

I know how super frustrating it can be when everything seems fine, but problems persist. Have you tried checking your storage settings? Sometimes there can be hidden files or system backups taking up space. Also, double-check your game installation settings to ensure it's recognizing your available storage correctly.
If you're still stumped, I've got a suggestion that might help. Sometimes, despite our best efforts, technology throws us curveballs. Have you ever considered looking into forensic workstation computers? They're like the superheroes of tech, capable of tackling even the trickiest of problems.

Power supply is bad or it switching off because it’s too hot. And if the storage isn’t working properly it might be because the BIOS and your OS are saying something different about how much storage there is. On my broken laptop the ram was 3gb in windows and in bios it 4gb. Perhaps a windows reinstall might help

That's actually normal. Windows reserves ram for the OS and only shows you the portion available to the userspace

Yes but it shouldn’t show that way
