Looking Younger Than You Are

There was this thing in vegas a long time ago where they had a person guess your age and/or weight and if it wasn't within 2 years or 5 pounds I think you won a prize...they were like 10 years and 30 pounds off on their guess for me :D
I also remember going to the movie theater with friends and the person there asked them if I was over 13. I was in my 20's at the time, they got a good laugh out of that.

At some amusement parks too. I know what you are talking about. I'm in my mid late 40s and anyone would guess I look like 22. In a game like that, no one could or would be able to guess my age even to 5 or 10 years of my age. LOL. Some of my friends tell me I could probably win a zoo full of stuffed animals, LOL. (Because usually if they don't guess what your age, weight, or height is to a certain point, you get a prize, and generally they are stuffed animals, or, as what some people here may call them, *stuffies*.)

I look very young for my age and to be truly honest, I act even younger. A lot younger, due to my Autism messing up my emotional and social maturity. Try more like preschooler aged.

When we took a trip to las vegas the casino people complained that I wasn't allowed to be there. My mom had to tell them I was 21+ yrs. old.

I know it’s not being mistaken for being younger but earlier this week my neighbor over the phone thought it was my mom & I’m 25 & a guy 🤣. He said something like “hey is your husband at home (funny thing I’m bi & never been in a real relationship🤣)” & I said in response “uhhhh hey neighbor this is * My Name*” & he said “ oh sh*t sorry about that” I basically told him they weren’t there & I was taking care of the house for them while they were on a vaycay then he said he’d try calling them, & he said sorry for the mix up funniest thing ever!😂

Whenever I’m out with someone else, I think people assume I’m younger than I actually am. For instance at the grocery store or at restaurants, the staff always seem to talk to that person rather than me. I also get asked if I want a kids menu a lot, lol. It’s so awkward for me!! I’m 19 so the age difference isn’t as distinct as some people’s here, but I’ve gotten used to it, haha

I’ve always looked young for my age, being shorter than average and a late bloomer. Now, as an old man, I’m happy to look 15 years younger than most guys my age.

I was at the grocery store last night, doing some shopping at the self checkout. For context, I was wearing an astronaut t-shirt with stars and planets on it with light blue jeans and converse shoes. Among my groceries was a bottle of ready to drink margarita mix (watermelon flavored). The self checkout machine announced that I needed associate approval to confirm my age (21 or older here in the USA) before I could finish checking out. A clerk in her late sixties came over and I showed her my ID. "I just need to make sure..." she started - inspecting the card "...because you look about twelve years old." I laughed at this. She suddenly realized how outspoken that must have sounded "I don't know, was that an insult or a compliment?" She asked me. "I'm sure it will pay off even more later on - when I'm older." I replied and smiled. "Have a great one!" I waved to her like a little kid, and she said goodbye. A lot of people might have been insulted by a comment like that - especially when it delays something they feel entitled to - like getting a drink. Honestly though, I really appreciated hearing that from her. Definitely made me feel little - even when I was trying to purchase groceries like an adult! :ROFLMAO:
Being Asian, our genetics allow us to look younger. So going to the alcohol store still makes me get carded. I've heard from other Asian parents who look like they can barely pass as being legal, would still get carded even though they are 40 years old.

You will come to savor that "inconvenience' as you get older.

Yes yes, my inner child leaks a little when I'm in public, so when I do get carded, I savor it hehe

A lot of people think I'm around 12-14 when I'm in public and dressed fairly little or when my regression kicks in and I'm out. It's been kinda a struggle since I'm 20 and people think I'm like a younger teen. Especially when I'm with my partner who's like 24 and looks his age... >_>;

I’ve always appeared younger than my actual age. My wife is the same. Until my mid-20s, it was annoying because it usually made things I wanted more difficult (always carded, potential dates thought I was too young, etc.) Then in my 30s and early 40s it was pretty neutral. Now as a mid-50s parent where my wife and I were in our 40s when our only child was born, we are about a decade younger than most parents of our son's friends and classmates. They are always amazed when they learn our actual age. I would consider it could be due to either my lifelong diaper interest and little side or to my running, but my wife does neither of those and is the same, so I guess it’s just genetics. Lately, I’m noticing more gray hairs, so my apparent aging rate may soon be increasing. At least with blonde-ish hair, you still have to look closely to see the gray, so I may still have some time.

It kind of sucks that I don't get asked my age for alcohol purchases. Just a few years ago at Costco, I got carded and the sweet woman told me something like I she would card me anytime. Maybe she was just being sweet. I found a picture of me when I was an actual Middle with a total bowl-cut. It looks pretty much like me but I'm a little thinner and a man now.

@SoggyRunner same with the greys, I was asked why I keep my hair short all the time, I answered with hiding the greys that are coming through, people are like what? You have grey hair? It’s really just a few, but I’m not ready to see them yet

I was ten years younger that my lady friend at the time and looked about ten years younger than my chronological age. We we often mistaken for mother and son and our relationship evolved into just that. 🤭

Anytime someone asks how old I am, I always ask them how old they think I am. Mid thirties and still get mid to low twenty guess. I've been told I'll appreciate my young looks when I'm old. I do the same thing when anyone asks how tall I am. So far the highest guess is 5'7". So now I'm waiting for someone to guess 5'8"

Until I was around my late teens, I was usually mistaken for older than my years(at 17, on holiday, I was mistaken for being in my early 20's, and I had it at other times too). After that though-it changed. I'm in the UK, drinking age is 18...it took me til mid-late 20's to not be ID'd. I am now 33 years young, as one of my medical experts likes to say!

It's helped for my little side, definitely. I'm a fan of hair bows and before their rise in popularity recently, I could get away with wearing them because of my youthful look. Also, I recently started experimenting with 'kawaii', Japanese inspired fashion. Kawaii translates as 'cute' so again my looks are an advantage and some items make awesome little outfits-especially my Care Bears pinafore and handbag!

My hair is starting to get long again after I buzz cut it again last year and started over. Actively looking at keratin treatment to make it straight and shiny and find an actual salon stylist and not just a 10 minute trim place.

What I'm going for is similar to what you'd call a bowl cut with the outer layer being all from the top long and straight in all directions, but without the bowl rim. Straight across at the brow line, sloping downward over the temples, a little triangular patch at the side burn area and then back up and over the top half of the ears before blending in with the back. Then razor cut the ends all around to give it a toothy edge.

Think classic 80s/90s boys hair cut. 🥰

Thinking how to explain what I want without just straight out saying I want a kid's/boy's hair cut. Because I can find examples of men's styles with all kinds of extreme bowl cuts and other aggressive crazy styles but I can only find examples of children's hair cuts for what I want. 😂
