Interesting article in the telegraph newspaper.

Thank you for sharring. It seem to be that the newspaper has a good moderator. And there are some good commentars. At all there are also the bad ones. At all there will be always people, which wouldnt accept and understand. Instead of that they judge. Hope that the soft play area goes on.

Reading the comments from the spokesperson, presumable the manager or owner, they seem very open and balanced. And as they quite rightly point out there is little to no difference between the venues with alcohol licences letting drunk adults run around and what was held there other than social acceptability.

Just narrow minded people who don't understand. Yes it was on fetlife what does that have to do with nonsexual age play event. What happened here was someone let slip to the wrong person about the first event and they couldn't get to grips with what adults like to do. Interesting to see all the deleted comments on the post too

I need to say that as an Autistic so called "adult" who is emotionally and socially like a 4 year old, and who actually isn't technically an adult baby at all, the worst group of people is the media. Totally distrustful of the media because they are 95% liberal and have only one sided stories that are negative about everything that is different. I've seen this over and over again. I am from the West Coast of USA and I really want to move the heck away from the area and move to Deep South like Alabama or South Carolina or even North Carolina. The people I've met on multiple trips to the South were more understanding of me than any libs ever were on the West Coast. I've been in South Carolina, and I have met some of the sweetest people I've ever met. I got called all sorts of names from the R word (at university even) to names suggesting that I might be a criminal. Or even a pedo. It's horrible. I was even thrown rocks at in college. Seems to me they wouldn't even do that to a real pedo. But I guess being Autistic makes me get treated worse than a criminal by libs. In contrast, I never ever got bullied in SC for having Autism, and if I did, you can be rest assured I would not be going there again and again and again. I have never been bullied for being Autistic in South Carolina, nor have I ever been bullied because I had unusual restricted interests such as collecting vintage children's long-alls or T strap shoes, or street maps, or 45 rpm records. Unlike in California or Oregon, I'm treated with respect and kindness in the South. They aren't racist either - I'm of Far East (Asian) background. Instead of bullying me, when I visit children's clothing stores in the South, they understand and are very helpful and show me what they have. Very sweet. Even if I tell them that I'd love to wear longalls myself, they don't bully me.

The West Coast is being kicked to the ground with the governors who don't care about our states. I wouldn't even call some of those people in Oregon even progressive liberals. To them, even Ted Wheeler, the mayor of Portland, is a conservative Republican even though he is left wing. Some of these people in Portland and Astoria want to basically abolish laws and the police and are fine with out of control crime. Three words to describe these people : radical, militant, and anarchist. If you put all three together, you get "radical militant anarchist". Exactly what they are. I have proof and I have a history going back many years of being bullied of libs who pride themselves on being "tolerant and understanding of differences and diversity". Tolerant, my foot. Even when I was a Democrat 25 years ago in college, I still got bullied for being Autistic in itself and for collecting vintage children's strap shoes. They bully their own!! The best thing to do for me is to remove myself from this unhappy environment on the Western part of the USA and move to the Carolinas.

Just remember, the media is NOT your friend. They are 95% liberal and bully people who are different. It is no surprise that the UK is like this too, because they are a socialist country. I hate to say that about the UK, because I adore Teletubbies and that is from the UK, but it is true. I remember more recently that article about that adult baby spa in New Hampshire that they made a big fuss over. New England is very much liberal and while New Hampshire is a little more conservative than Massachusetts or Vermont, liberals still make up more than 50% of the population. So understanding, huh?

edit : by the way, not ALL liberals are bad or mean. I have some liberal friends. But the media is horrible. And while not all liberals are bullies, those who have bullied seem to be all liberals. A is part of B, but B is not necessarily part of A. Just like not all little boys who wear long-alls with T strap shoes (a lot wear them with Keds or New Balance sneakers), but among little boys who wear T strap shoes, 99% of the time, they will be worn with longalls, jon jons, or bubbles.

That article actually seemed well written and mostly non judgemental in itself which is good, and the play center owner was open minded enough to allow the even to go forward one time which is great.

It's just a shame that some people have to stick their noses on and make unwarranted accusations and allegations about something they clearly knew nothing about, like how they were worried about "how much bodily fluids will be on everything", I imagine there would be much more fluids on everything after children have been there since many of them who may have accidents won't be in nappies or thinking about cleanliness.

It's sad really as there is one of the UK's biggest soft play centers here in Bristol and I've often thought it would be great to run an abdl event there (they have adult only periods and days and can be hired for adult events) but then crap like this happens and everyone who doesn't like or understand it gets their knickers in a twist.

Adult events at places that are primarily for children can be great fun! A science and astronomy centre near Winchester held an ‘adults only’ evening event a few years ago and I went along with a couple of friends. It was absolutely not an ABDL event in any shape or form, just a chance for the ‘grown ups’ to actually get a chance to play without the kids.

Everyone appeared to be having enormous fun just by being given the opportunity to be big kids. We turned handles and wheels as fast as we could, jumped on enormous scales, went down slides, bounced on trampolines and fired lasers at each other. We laid down on the floor of the planetarium and marvelled at the universe, had free sweets and generally ran around the attraction and everyone agreed that they’d all had a fantastic evening.

Deep down even the grumpiest most cynical of adults is a big kid at heart! 😊

Yeah indulging as children still do is great I mean some activities are socially acceptable like theme parks and Paintballing but they are seen as ‘teenage activities’ rather than toddler some like water parks or low rope courses are still acceptable but a bit suspect best to go with a friends, family members or your own child that way no one questions you but soft play areas just aren’t feasible for adults to get involved unless it’s a special occasion. The last time I saw a adult get involved in anything ever resembling a soft play area it was ‘Gladiators’ with a 6,5 foot guy weighing 18 stone smacking them over the head with a oversized ear bud!

Like one of the commentators said, “ I guess I don’t have a moral compass “ . I wish I had known that, I could have had allot more fun along the way.

🤷🤷 LOL I guess not, hahaha. Whatever. Yeah right.

As for me, I have a great moral compass, according to my old children's librarian friend. And I care a lot about others. I was nice to even my bullies, in high school. If anyone could be a character witness for me, both my friends AND bullies from elementary school to high school and beyond could probably vouch that I'm a very sweet and kind person.

Moderator note: this is common for publicized ABDL events. Unfortunately public opinion of ABDL is very negative.
Attempting to force one's opinions about ABDL onto the general public will most likely result in more negative feedback .
