There can be a general problem with metal press studs, they get tired and don't do their job well. It can be uncomfortable and not safe when one of press stud gives up and your diapers are full. Plastic pants are expensive, you can spare your money and don't waste plastic if you repair them.
I need three tools: small hammer, a piece of metal for anvil and awl.
I lay the press studs on the anvil, point the little deepening with the awl and I hit a medium one with the hammer. Small metal bump thickens and it works well again.

Good advice. I don't use plastic pants, but it's the same for onesies.

I'm a pull-on plastic pants kind of guy, but I do have a couple of plastic raincoats with that type of snap. Good idea!
