Didn't know that, glad people still celebrate old festivals and so they should in Briton. Here sometimes a guy is burned on the fire who is supposed to represent Judas, an attempt by the church to put a thin veneer of Christianity on proceedings.

Judas instead of the scapegoat or sacrificial king if times were really troubled. Has anyone seen the original film The Wickerman with Edward Woodwood. For the younger viewers also from the American series of the Equalizer.

That’s interesting! I agree with you and I think we should all celebrate our roots and traditions and enjoy our connections with the real people who lived within our landscapes through the millennia. I hope your celebrations go well, and it’s so heartening to see traditions being upheld.

I loved the film the Wicker Man and also the series Equalizer. In the U.S and Canada there is a new Equalizer series with Queen Latifa and it is pretty good. We don't seem to have any old customs still in place in Canada but then it is still a relatively young country by world standards.
