Diapers and healthy sperm

So my wife and I are trying to get pregnant. So I went and had my sperm checked. I had very low healthy (almost none) overall and one of the questions the doctor asked was do I go in saunas or hot tubs as that can heat up your “balls” to temperatures that could damage the sperm inside.

That has me thinking, does wearing wet diapers have the same effect and is causing my sperm to be damaged? A warm wet diaper can make it hot down there.

Anyone else deal with anything like this?

In short I had the same issue. Had a child from a previous relationship but couldn’t get current wife pregnant. Both of us went through numerous tests and found it to be my almost non existent sperm count to blame. Only variable I can see is wearing diapers 24/7 now versus maybe a few times a week then.

This study refers to baby's. But it probably also would be the same for adults.

Constrictive and insulated underwear - even without being flooded with core temperature fluid - will impede the ability of the testes to regulate their temperature and therefore maintain optimum conditions for the production and storage of sperm.

That’s what I thought. But to the point of 0% healthy sperm?

Probably. I’ve heard that even wearing ordinary supportive underwear such as boxer briefs can be detrimental to the production of healthy sperm.

A friend who was having issues a few years ago was told to ditch the boxer briefs and jeans and wear lightweight boxers and loose cotton trousers.

A hot, wet diaper is like a pressure cooker!

I would have a word with your clinicians, but I do wish you and your wife all the very best.

In a brasilian study, men who previously took regular hot baths underwent almost 500% increase of sperm count after they stopped bathing.
(There was even one case with an increase from 0 (!) to 200000, but that one was considered an outlier and excluded from the results.)

There are probably other factors but it is a heat sensitive process - they certainly aren't where they are for safety! - at a certain threshold production cannot take place.

To be honest..I don't think its any of that. I think its our culture in what we eat. Like the preservatives in foods and even the chemicals in plastic water bottles will reduce testosterone. There are more and more studies where men would eat grass fed beef and organic meats and fruits and take out all seed oils even olive oil. If you need oil then use straight up grass fed butter. If you follow this diet of whole foods, ice baths, and weight lifting with cardio then your testoterone will increase over 100 percent. Its the foods that are affecting your sperm not the diapers. Take out all of the junk food, sweets, chemicals, preservatives....and focus on whole foods, fruits, vegetables, organic meats or grass fed beefs and taking out all oil. Joe Rogan discusses all of that. Then you will have an overflow of hyperspermia. Another i heard is eating at least two brazil nuts a day and focus on squats. Tim Ferris talks about that method to increase testosterone.

I know those names, aren't they renowned charlatans?

More than potentially spurious sources there are some real issues here.

Eating well is generally good advice, though you will struggle to find a dietician who will tell anyone but the most anaemic to increase their red meat consumption - bowel cancer makes a low sperm count look like a holiday.

Secondly testosterone is not sperm, increasing one does not necessarily increase the other. It also leads to mood disturbances and is suppresses the immune response, which are not desirable outcomes.

Finally no amount of testosterone will make hot testicles function like cool ones, too hot is too hot. Additional inputs can accelerate a process but not one which is unable to start - more raw materials are simply no good in a factory with no workers.

I've also heard that placing your keyboard on your lap (like I do) could decrease your sperm count as well.

I've heard that of a laptop computer, surely a keyboard doesn't produce any great heat?

You might have a point. I couldn't find anything on keyboards, only laptops. So I might be fine, but still, for me, I don't care about my sperm count.

Yes, stick to actual Medical Doctors and not talk show hosts.

Red meat=Atherosclerosis, the number one killer of those who follow a western diet. First sign of vascular plaques are impotence. A site to spend hours on nutritionfacts.org

It never caused me issues…. Just stop wearing as much or at all while trying to reproduce if causing issues. Theoretically, it could I suppose. No different than tight fitting clothes.

yes, clowdy sperm is all clear now without swimmers. Used no contraception with wife over last 5 years. Wearing peed in diaper is a birthcontrol, heating sperm to hot to multiply.I've known this quite a while.

Search the forum as this topic has come up previously. In short, there is a lot of misinformation out there about sperm and excess heat. First of all, a diaper is not a sauna or hot tub!

I wear 24/7 due to IC and have dealt with low sperm count when trying to conceive and put the diaper question to three top urologists and reproductive specialists. They all said the same thing. While the diaper could have decreased my count by a few million, it could not have been responsible for the very low counts and low morphology I had. That was their expert opinion. I’ll take that over any BS you find online. Also, we DID get pregnant more than once while I was wearing 24/7 and later found my wife had a number of infertility issues.

I will try to explain that to my two adult kids that they are here as a result of Heavenly Intervention!
Game show medical advice is a poor source.

Been in diapers and plastic pants, 24/7, for 45 years!! With me, diapers are not effecting my abilities nor my counts!
But, my guys sit nicely in a gusset created by forming a "U" shaped channel between my legs and clearly do not suffer overheating.

Take care of the sources of the studies you are referencing as most are little more than lazy PHD writings.

FYI: Wearing diapers is not for style, they are for function! Open-up the space between your legs and allow your guys to breath!

Yeah my count is on the high end. But 0% morphology. She is fine, no problems
