Back problems and IC

Yes, sounds a lot like me, but i have got no tumor, as far as i know. ;)

But the problem with flaring up and loosing control is part of my problems as well.
The spondylolthesis and stenosis in that part of my lower back where i do have the problems with the prolapse is bad for a mid forties.
When i broke my rib-bow i could not bend my back for some weeks, this resulted in some parts growing together, that should not even touch normally. When the rib-bow was O.K. again, it took some painful weeks to break that up, of course i did this on my own, i a (stupid) man.

It is O.K. now, but at that time it hurt like hell, either in the front or the back, my main problem was no doctor was taking it seriously, they told me it is just a rib bruise, so i got no painkillers or any help with it. Six weeks later my family doctor did a sonography from the point where my rib bow was broken (that is not bone but cartilage) because there was a "bump" and realized the accident doctor told me wrong (as i knew already, i had bruised ribs before and that was a joke in comparison). In the US the problem is better known, it is called "SRS - Slipping Rib Syndrom), in Germany nobody knows that kind of injury, because it mosty happen in wrestling, which is not that famous here.
My accident was from BJJ, which is basically wrestling either.

I am pretty sure my bad back is partly the cause of my bladder problems. Each time I have Radio Frequency Ablation on my lower joints the doctor would say how are you feeling "Fine" "Ok let me know if you have any bladder issues" and for about 4 years in didn't but then I noticed the dribbling and then some loss of control. I asked my pain specialist about this and he said NO I don't think that is the cause, see a Urologist. I did and he told me OAB and gave me pills. Slowly it has gotten worse over the last 9 years and my Urologist said it may be because of the back treatments but each doctor does not want to criticize the other. Later on they both said it is age related.
Sorry, but I had to laugh at the joint comment that it must be age related! That is darn near, if not a standard response of our medical professionals! The sad truth that your Post highlights is the serious problems within our medical professionals. Thank You!

Yes definitely. I wet the bed when I was younger right into my teens but as an adult my bed wetting started in my mid 20’s after a spinal injury playing rugby and damage to the nerves. Subsequent spinal issues and multiple operations at L3/L4, L4/L5 and L5/S1 have led to daytime issues and I now wear adult nappies 24/7 to manage my incontinence.

Yes I had injuries also to my lower back. One when I was about 19 and fell down long flight of stairs. The other was work related doing multiple heavy jobs that eventually led to spinal issues.

Well for me it started at the top….of my back. C 3/4, C 4/5 injury resulted in minor leaks but the two level fusion is when it began intermittently. This was followed by a seizure that I had when I abruptly quit the gabapentin that I was taking the maximum daily dose of. After the seizure the dual ic became a fact of my daily life. Hands, arms, legs, and everything else stills works so I’ve got a lot to be thankful for. Especially since the radio frequency ablation annual procedure has allowed me to reduce my opioid use down to 20% of what it once was.
