Hey everyone.
I've updated my TO-DO list to show what was completed in 2023's Q3, as well as what is planned for Q4.
Here's what I got done:
- Permanently fixed the disk space issue https://www.adisc.org/forum/threads/disk-space-fixed.175011/
- Added new profile fields https://www.adisc.org/forum/threads/new-profile-fields-account-type-supporting-us.175564/
- Added the ability to ignore threads/forums, and close accounts https://www.adisc.org/forum/threads/two-new-addons-ignore-forums-threads-self-closure.177309/
- Caught up with the staff team, and identified two areas that I need to improve
- Improved our handling of accounts with bad passwords (no thread for this one, its still in beta and hasn't officially been announced yet)
- Improved our handling of scammer accounts (again, no thread for this one)
Originally my priority for Q3 was to figure out how I'm going to handle ADISC financially going forward. For example, whether I'm going to turn ADISC into a business, so that ADISC can pay for its own costs (and so I can buy things for it that don't really fit into our current shoestring budget). I did get some work done on this, ultimately deciding I wasn't going to monetize ADISC in Q3. Right now its looking like I'll just continue running it as a free service with no monetization. I would still like to monetize it at some point but the steps to do so are sufficiently complicated and onerous, and my health issues sufficiently time/energy-consuming, that I don't think I can do it right now. Perhaps next year.
As for the issues I intend to tackle in Q4 (Oct, Nov, Dec) of 2023, you can check out my TO-DO list to get a sense of the tasks I'm considering.
