Which is worse - daytime or nighttime wetting?

For most of my life nighttime wetting was my biggest concern. But in recent years its been surpassed by daytime urge IC wetting incidents. When I feel the urge now I have to to go and often have very little time to find a bathroom when Im out. Its especially bad if I am sitting somewhere like at a restaurant or food court and then stand up and start walking and then the urge will strike suddenly. I still find it a hassle to remember to wear protection during the daytime and when I do wear and wet pullups I usually feel self conscience and have to get to a bathroom to change as soon as possible because Im worried about the saggy crotch and possible leaking. Bedwetting is much easier to deal with in my experience.

Night-time is much easier as one is simply setting enough volume /absorbance in place to not leak.
During the day presents a full new set of issues.
You will quickly find that most people are way to busy with their life issues to be concerned about you.
Your goal should be to avoid leaks and diaper covers (plastic pants) is an important part of that success.
From there, it a matter of selecting the diaper product that provides you the protection you need during the time you are out, plus a couple of hours on either side to allow you time to get to a place you are comfortable changing.
Bring a diaper bag (I use a laptop bag) that contains those items you need to assure a couple of changes when you are out and about, as accidents will happen.

Thanks for the advice. If I go out for any period of time I almost always carry a knapsack with supplies and a couple plastic bags for disposal. There are times when Ive had problems finding a place to change though. I havent in recent years used plastic or rubber pants but am considering it. Public bathrooms aren't always easy to find and some of them are pretty gross. And I have been caught short a couple times when just going out to the store and thinking I'll only be out for a few minutes. A friend of mine jokes that I should always wear dark pants because they camouflage leaks.

I agree, night time is a lot easier to handle, as Edgewater said, just have a diaper with a proper absorbance and everything is fine. You don't have to care about wearing something discreet or quiet, everything which catches up all your nightly output without leaking is good.
Fo daytime it's all more challenging. Usually - being IC - you want to wear something as discreet as possible and with as much absorbency as needed - which means that you must be very familiar and sure how you bladder works over the day so that you can wear something appropriate - which is different for each one individually. What works best for me might be horrible for you and the other way round. I personally prefer for daytime use the Attends Flex, which is a belt type diaper. It holds more than a pull-up (but less than a tabbed diaper), is much, much easier to change even in small public bathrooms and is easy to open and refasten if you are able to use a toilet. But this, as I said before, might be completely wrong for you! But generally I don't rely on "smaller" solutions like pull-ups , which probably would work for me on many days but as I've learned it's always better to be prepared for bad days - otherwise sooner or later you will experience wet pants! I personally am not a fan of plastic or rubber pants - I prefer to wear Cotton Feel diapers which gives my skin the opportunity to breathe although wearing 24/7 - and covering breathable diapers into solid plastic pants is quite contra productive ...

Thankfully I only wet at night, it’s a nothing. On the other hand seems to me daytime incontinence would be a life altering nightmare. Hope it’s not in my future.

Day time wetting are what make me most nervous. Just remember, accidents happen, all we can do is be prepared.

At night at least it's in the dark and easier to keep hidden. Day time has to be the most concerning because you don't know when or where it'll hit

Nighttime is much easier for most situations. Worst case you leak and wet the bed, but pretty much no one knows. Daytime has a whole other level of potential issues to consider. It's manageable, but you have to take more things into consideration.

That laptop bag is probably a lot less conspicuous than an old geezer like me carrying a backpack that I used over 20 years ago as a book bag at college. It‘s a Lands End with my name embroidered on it and has great capacity, but it’s not exactly inconspicuous. It even works well on the occasions when I wear cloth diapers while out and about with enough room for ziplock bagged used diapers for their return trip home. Maybe those who see me in public will think that I’m just a voracious reader and have the need to carry my latest interests with me.

Nightime I usually wet during my sleep, daytime I can sense it a bit, but output is much higher during the daytime.

I worry more about wetting while I am awake and do have some minor issues with leakage/dribbles as well as (more recently) the occasional urge--as in "I have to pee right now!" although in reality I have a few minutes to get to the bathroom when this occurs. I use a size 7 disposable diaper (right now Wal-Mart brand) to handle this and it meets my needs at the moment. At night, I simply diaper up before I go to bed and don't worry about it. I have been a bed wetter all my life, with a very occasional dry spell, and that's just part of who I am.

I would say in terms of leakage your more likely to leak at night lying down, but could be a worse situation if leaked in the day especially if in public

Day time is far worse. Just the uncertainty that your protection is going to hold when around people? Then worried can they see or hear my diaper? Of course for us bowel IC people the worry goes for smell too, not to mention the sound of a uncontrolled movement or even just uncontrolled gas. Then the worry of where am I going to change? Is it a private bathroom I can lock the door? If not is there private stalls? If so do I have to carry my used diaper past 10 other stalls or people washing their hands to throw it away? Then you have to have supplies on you, in your car, locker or desk if at work. Plus what if you do leak? Do you have a change of cloths on hand? What will co workers say or think If I am running to the restroom with a backpack and come back in a different pair of jeans? Will folks at work figure out I am the one throwing adult diapers in the trash? Not to mention those of us with fecal IC and IBS. What can I eat for breakfast of lunch that is not going to cause a attack in a few hours? Should of I go out with the guys after work and had beers and go bowling? Will my diaper hold up if I do? Nope at night is easy I have just the wife who is amazing and understanding to judge me. I have the same great diaper on but it is fresh when I go to bed and I am lying on a bed pad and a mattress protector if I do leak. Night time is WAY WAY les stressful!!!

Day time is worse IMO. It is much easier to hide bedwetting and most of the time it just handled in private. Plus I’m sleeping during it so it doesn’t really change all that much

Daytime by far. I wish I was just a bedwetter. Things would be a lot simpler and less complicated.

I have had an OAB for most of my life, being in a restaurant or shop and desperately needing to pee sucks ! I now wear diapers everywhere, and that really helps.

Neither is worse, acceptance is best. The right diaper is important. For night time a more absorbent diaper and for day time a balance between absorbency and discretion. The only "worse" scenario are leaks, try to know the capacity of your diapers together with your wetting frequency.

Night time is easier to handle cause you can easily just measure how much your fluid intake is before bedtime. Daytime gets really tricky and can lead to some uncomfortable situations and it's embarrassing for others to notice your wet diapers/pants than being alone in your bed.
