I thought of making this thread this morning when I woke up. After trying pee in my diaper on my stomach and my back in bed, and failing horribly. It made me motivated to see how wide spread of a problem this is. Also if there are any techniques or advice people have on how to over come this block. I think that it has a lot to do with gravity. Cause I can pee standing and sitting, and even sitting laying back while reclined at 45 degree angle. Although I can not pee laying on my stomach, or back to save my life. I have been trying for several years and still can not over come this. I know that it is possible for my body to do this, because I remember waking up still peeing while on my stomach in bed back when i was like 4 or 5.

So please take the poll and check all the positions you are able to pee in without any trouble. If you have done it once or twice in that postion but generally have a hard time in a specific position do not check it. So this IS a multiple selection poll. Also if you are able to pee laying down in any postion please post how you were able to do this, specially if at one point before you could not do it. I would greatly appreciate the advice and I am sure others would too.

I can go in any of those postions. Why don't you just make an option for that?

I never have understood why people have problems peeing in certain postions..

I think that I have a well trained bladder, because this has always been difficult for me.
I can now pee easily standing and sitting, but anything else is impossible. I can sometimes do it laying down on my back, but it takes so much effort.

I think it gets easier the more you wear and the more you get used to going in diapers. But I very rarely wear/use them so I guess it will be awhile before I can go in any position.

Well I can't really do it in any positions, I'm just not used to going in diapers. With practice I'll be able to, but I don't have the time (or the diapers!) to practice at the moment.

Physiologically, I don't think there's anything stopping you going in any position you want - the muscles down there can usually push it out hard enough, and then you'll just be able to let it flow after a while. So I'm guessing it's all psychological - you're not used to going like that, and you're brain is going "no!". So I guess after enough practice you can pee however you feel like peeing!

Yeah, it's mostly psychological. We've all been trained for years to NOT pee in bed, so of course it's going to be hard to go lying down.

Sitting and Standing is not problem for me. But the only way I can do it laying is if im at least a little propped up, like a 45 degree angle and then I can pee, but thats almost like sitting.

I have tried everything, other than cartwheels...I haven't mastered the whole 'peeing while cartwheeling' I guess I should start by doing it while hand standing, but I am not sure because gravity will take affect...and...I don;t want to pee on the floor! :D Any question?

Standing is no problem for me. Sitting is a bit more difficult, only a little effort required. Everything else though requires too much effort so I don't even bother with it.

Yes I agree, it is Psychological from years and years of using the potty and telling yourself to hold in pee at all costs unless your sitting on the potty. Although I know for a fact that it is also partially physical, at least for my body anyways. I tested this out once, one time I had to pee super bad and I was like "hey this would be a good time to practice peeing laying down since I have to go so bad!" When I laid down to try it before I even started to try I noticed I only had to go like half as bad as when I was standing, so I thought that was weird. So I stood back up and I had to go real bad again, so I laid back down and this time tried to pee yet again I felt like I did not have to go nearly as bad. I eventually got the stream started but a few seconds into it, I stopped without trying to stop and I could not get started again. So I think it has a lot to do with gravity. When you are laying down you do not have gravity's help in pushing it down and out, so your muscles have to do more work in contracting your bladder than usual. Has anyone else noticed this about the urge of pee changing when you stand and lay down?

So overall I can pee laying down, but only when I need to go really really bad, and even then I only go for a few seconds then stop once I am comfortabley releived which is only about 3-5 seconds of peeing. So I still have a lot more in there left. It frustrates me so much because I have been wearing diapers for almost 9 years now and still can not do this. Oh well I have made some progress it used to take a me a minute or 2 to just get started standing but not standing and sitting are not problem, but laying down is still getting on my nerves.

i dimly remember the days when i had trouble going when i was sitting down, but nowadays i can do it in pretty much any position. i can usually even do it when i'm walking along, although sometimes my bladder can be a bit shy in that situation.

it's kind of therapeutic to gradually work through all that psychological conditioning and learn to totally relax your muscles when you choose to do so. i find it pretty satisfying anyway.

I have to push a little to let go while laying on my stomach, however, all of the other positions are no problem for me. Might just take FullMetals idea and try cartwheeling, hehe!

I can pretty much pee in any position, but like Mandi I have to push a little while lying on my stomach. This is more because of my "equipment" being squeezed a bit when it's under me.

Its easy for me to pee into a diaper in any position or in my pants for that matter.
I dont understand why some have trouble, that must suck.
However there are many things I dont understand in this universe.

I clicked all options except the last one. I can go in any position when I'm alone and not in a movie vehicle.
When I'm in a car or on a train, however, I seem to be too stressed to relax enough to let go, so it's very difficult to use my diapers in that situation. The same applies when I'm around people - I usually interact with them in some kind, so I'd feel too weird to suddenly focus all my attention on my bladder muscles (I'd probably look like I was zoning out or something). So I can't go either. The peeing when people are around bit usually does not apply to situations where I'm standing up, as that's the position I pee in 95% of the time, so it's quite normal.

thats probably due to pressure of muscles on your bladder.
