Honestly, I'm not surprised. With the quality of deep learning adversarial algorithms and the quality of fake pictures and videos they can create, it was a matter of time. The official site is down and it's been announced that it won't be coming back, but it's probably not hard to find a pirate copy (probably loaded with malware, too)
I doubt any good whatsoever will come if it. I can't imagine what a legitimate use for such sure might be
You haven't downloaded the iDiaperU camera filter for your iPhone? Oh, damn. Just delisted.
DeepNude is amusing, and I'm sure a gazillion copy-cat apps are right around the corner. This was pretty much the work of a couple of script-kiddies. The algorithms are (apparently) free and available.
I was much more amused when this appeared a month or two ago:
Machine learning researchers have produced a system that can recreate lifelike motion from just a single frame of a person's face, opening up the possibility of animating not just photos but also of paintings. It's not perfect, but when it works, it is — like much AI work these days — eerie and fas…
