Hook n' loop fasteners are my favorite. They're just like the tabs on baby diapers, and are also convenient, with no loss of stickiness with powder or creams, and the ability to adjust.
Actually, I understand the practicality of them. But if a diaper can be removed without destroying it then you’ll never be told “you’ve already got your diaper on, just use it”. As a kid, I was diapered well before bed and I wasn’t allowed to take them off cause they would rip or leak. Once I was in a diaper I was expected to use it until morning.
It's a shame so many of the diaper with landing zones have been removing them or keep disappearing.
The thin outer plastic of many diapers really isn't suited for long duration wearing, the landing zones kept the stretching and thus sagging to a minimum in my experience.
I prefer the hook and loops, as I find that as I’m wearing a diaper for a while, it needs periodic adjustment. Diapers with tapes just never feel secure after the first time and I hate that.
I like the extra rustle of having a diaper with a landing zone, but my vote goes to hook and loop for versatility and not worrying about the adhesive breaking down.
I know many like the plastic landing zone but I find the clear landing zone too rigid or stiff along the front making it almost too overly crinkly.. The convenience of it though is good because once you tape wrong, the tape will rip the thin plastic off. Ive recently liked the hook and loop, those hold fairly well and make a nice rip off sounds when changing.
