I love FB for my history addiction. Put a movie camera on a bus or car in a city a hundred years ago and everyone will have their personal time machine. People were poor drivers in 1923 as they are today.

Two photos came up today of ancient bed from Europe. The left one is from England and the right one from Austria.

Let your minds wander.

I love history. Beds were so different centuries ago. I find it all intriguing. They also were shorter as people were shorter.

Drawer-beds (for kids) were also quite common, as with,

(The resemblance, I know).
That's just in jest, but the beds are true (don't know if there was some inspiration for the film, though).

Ah yes, the good ol' fashioned 'bedstee' as we call them here.
One of those helped my grandpa survive a bombing during the war, so i'm quite fond of them : D

This reminds me of a Seinfelf episode where Kramer was entertaining Asian visitors who were touring New York and he had them sleeping in drawers. I think he was charging them for it too.

I slept in a drawer my first few days after being born. I arrived a couple of weeks early and my parents weren't ready. My mother swears they removed the drawer from the dresser first.
