Hi, goodmorning everyone, happy Saturday!.πŸ™‚πŸ™‚πŸ™‚πŸ™‚πŸ™‚

I don't know if anyone else goes through what I feel when I wear my high waisted footed tights.
It seems that the compression from my high waist tights calms me down, relaxes me in a unique way.
I have noticed the days I wear them, my day goes much better, I know that seems kinda of funny but I have observed that.

I always wear a pair of tights over my diapers everyday..πŸ™‚
Not sure if feeling pressure on abdomen is sign of Autism, just wondering.

Back when I were young in terry nappies I have memories of wearing knitted wool tights in winter i guess it’s was because a wet terry nappy would get cold quick πŸ₯Ά

My mum or other family would have hand knitted these

I find that gentle compression helps me sometimes, other times I really need loose clothing; for sure though, when I'm at home and I wear leggings or tights, it certainly helps me feel better! I think I might wear some today, actually, to help me keep calm while cleaning.

It's a comforting sensation for what is called our "proprioceptive nervous system." Need for this kind of stimulation is very common in ASD. It is basically the senses that say hugging feels good, or that let you know that someone is close to you, or that you aren't alone in a space.

Have you considered a weighted blanket? I bet you would be thrilled with one!

I have not tried one yet, that sounds like a good idea!.πŸ™‚.
No wonder I would love to swing on my belly at the swingsets. I might have ASD, thank you for the idea. Now that you mention it, I do remember being very pressure sensitive.😧
I really appreciate the info Turfy.😊😊😊😊😊

Don't recall seeing any on my travels in the last few years. Back in the 70's when I was helping out with the Ballet the dancers (both boys and girls ) wore knitted wool tights and even plastic pants to keep their muscles warm while practicing. I got some of the plastic pants, ( like the Sauna suits on the market back then), but not the wool tights.

I heard it helps with many despite autism. But a love a hot bath. It is encapsulating. I kinda must have the top tapes tight as far as snugnesses, but I can't handle too much tightness around my abdomen without feeling "trapped". Beats me. 🀭

Usually wearing anything that simulates being hugged is desired .
Being AB/DL and enjoying abdominal compression is a natural and safe way to feel.
I mean it is all about being safe -- in little space !!
Happy New Year , may you all be blessed with a perfect year !!

I love the feeling of compression. I posted before Christmas about an item i bought out of curiosity which I would highly recommend for that hugged feeling.

Whilst I dont wear tights per se, but I do wear tight clothes around the middle acording to dr to help reglate my BP, I have Hyper and Hypotension can change 100pts in 5 mins sometimes, not good at keeping awake.
But, yes wearing something tight in the middle does calm me as well, I think anything snug (not cuting off the blood supply) for most people feels good. It does to most infants as well.

As for boy or girl i'd say not much different that way.

I'd say try some spanx or body slimmers if your not in a position to have coloored legs.

Really interesting thread. I've never tried high-waisted tights, but always pull them up as far as they';; go and in larger sizes, I can get them up around my nipples, which is wonderful. For me it's just that the feeling of wearing tights is wonderful (the nylon against my skin and the snugness of the compression makes me feel secure) and so logically if you like that, why wouldn't you want it over as much of your body as possible? Bodystockings are either a faff or need to be open-crotch, the glorious exception is of course if you're wearing a nappy (which also makes me feel secure)!
