oWell recently i have been invited by 2 of my friends to go trick or treating tommorrow.

My dad insists that i am too old for it says the only reason im going is to get into mischief

So im asking you guys do you think it would be weird to see some one my age go trick or treating? Do you think im too old for it?

I don't think you're too old at all! I'm going. My brother went until only last year and he's 22. ;_;

I'm 17, and I'm hella goin.

Course, my Haloweens at this more "mature" age usualy involve more booze than candy. But whatever, it's still fun.

Just dress up in a stupid costume and they won't think your going to go get in trouble.

If your going at age 13 or anywhere past that you better have a damn good costume. Anyways I think that if kids want to act mature/adult like they shouldn't go trick or treating anymore. I went when I was 15 but I didn't dress up or ask for any candy I just walked around with my friends who were in costume.

I think you should be able to go, I'm going and I'm 17. =p

And Fire2box: What's wrong with some lighthearted fun and trying to get a bit of candy? Is there really an age limit on that?

Well, I'm 17 and definitely not going (sadly). This is largely due to the fact that I was given a hard time when I went trick or treating when I was only 13. Too bad some people are so stingy with their candy. My personal view is that as long as you have a real costume, you should be eligible for trick or treating, so that means that you should go as long as you can get away with it!

In the town where I grew up...if you are 13+ you're not ALLOWED to go trick-or-treating (not after 6pm anyway). The town/RCMP/county/firefighters/schools/local social clubs and such throw a huge Hallowe'en 'bash' for the 13-18 crowd at the local arena. The kids are bused to the arena and back home again. There is music, food, prizes (we're not talkin' candy bars here...things like Ipods and the like). If anyone 13-18 is on the street after 6pm they are taken home with a police escort. Granted it's a small town (about 1500 people), but as I said the kids are bused in from outlying areas...as much as 25km (15 miles) away!

I personally think it's a great idea...the teens have their thing with their friends and don't get into trouble...and the lil kids get to trick-or-treat without fear of being hit in the back by a rotten egg!

I won't be doing it personally but that comes from my parents complete lack of belief in anything to do with halloween, been as for us it is an American import, and my parents are a bit snobby about that sorta thing.

As for an age limit, WTF? To go out and have a good time - since when has there been an age limit on that. You have friends going with you - it isn't like you are the only one. I think your dad is being stupid about it. I have seen 14 and 15 year olds trick or treating over here, and over here it isn't nearly as big as where you are. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it whatsoever.

Speaking of Halloween, some mysterious stranger has been wandering around my neighborhood, stealing pumpkins, carving them, and putting them back Complete with candle. Spooooooky...

Lord, don't let him ruin the fun of Halloween, I'm 21, not able to go trick or treating this year...but I definitely plan on still trick or treating when I'm older! You're never too old for trick or treating :D!
