A quick question before I make a faux pas: I tend to use the term "nappy", but it's clear that the term most often used here is "diaper". Would I be okay using my usual term, or is that a huge faux pas?

there are many terms for diaper including Nappy, pamp, padding

Any form of 'nappy' is acceptable here.

When replying to a post, I generally use the same word that the person I am replying to used. For my own posts, I use diaper.

Just as a rose by any other name would smell as sweet, a nappy by any other name would still be a diaper, didee, or whatever anyone might want to call it. As for how it would smell... Well, probably not like a rose.

As others have said before, nappies, diapers, and all other language translations are certainly acceptable.

Luier is the term we use in the Netherlands. The word Lui means lazy. For those too lazy to use a toilet a luier is perfect.
