I use hand towels and bath towels depending on how thick I want it. I do not like the terry against my “sensitive” bits so I put the towels between the diaper and the flannel booster it came with or between two diapers.

Department stores like Mal-Wart sell a 12 pack of birdseye cotton baby diapers. I have used the pre-folded versions and the flat diapers as stuffers and they work well.

Spaz has it right. It's even what they were designed for more or less.
