There was a time two and a half years ago when I was really getting into ABDL, wearing Abenas nonstop for weeks, and only using the toilet for #2. At some point, I totalled my car, broke up with my very close mate, and had my unpleasant older brother move in with me, all within a one-week span. It turned out that I started waking up wet without control, and I excitedly tried to isolate and replicate the causes. Common factors for a wet night, as I discovered, included going to bed with an empty bladder and a stomach full of juice, diapered and already in a "baby" mindset. It did not occur to me that it was most likely caused by the stress of recent events, as many experts say.

For the past several months my closest real-life friends have been jerks to me. They've proven unreliable and insensitive, and more buddies than real friends; for example, if we all had the idea to play Halo, we'd play Halo together, but if I happened to be in my apartment nobody would actually tell me they were playing. As a matter of fact I'm really quite excluded from the group as of late. Moreover they think that my problems are my problems, and incorrectly believe that you shouldn't have to tell your friends about them.

My apartment was a wreck. On a messiness scale, with 10 being "very difficult to walk around in", it was a 7. One day I woke up and immediately started cleaning, and didn't stop for seven hours straight until everything was put away and organized, dishes done, laundry done, trash disposed of, carpet freshly vacuumed, and even the bathroom mopped. For the majority of the time I was thinking unnaturally negative thoughts, complaining, insulting, and ranting silently at figments of my friends. It's uncharacteristic of me, since usually I'm a hopeless optimist and quite cheerful regardless of the circumstances.

That night I wet the bed, despite having not worn a diaper for half a year, and having not wet the bed in 2.5 years. It was not a particularly babyish night for me, and in fact pretty normal, aside from the insane amount of cleaning and constant spewing of negative thoughts during the day; I did have a full glass of water right before sleeping, but I've done that many times in the past with no such results. (Side note, my bladder was only half empty when I woke up.) I didn't wet the bed last night, and I probably won't tonight either.

Not much more to say about it. I'm not shaken up about it in the slightest, though I am taking it as a signal from my body that I should keep up my philosophy of not worrying in little circles.

tl;dr - The biggest causes of bedwetting are drinking before bed and significant stress in your life.

Stress is not cool to have to work through. But we always find ways of working through them. Many of us here find wearing of diapers as a way to accomplish that. Accidental bedwetting, as you say is an isolated situation, unless you have no complete control.

Good luck on finding a solution.

Maybe my chronology is still hard to follow. The first paragraph is all background, describing what I learned 2.5 years ago. The second paragraph is more background, but recent. The third paragraph, describing my messy apartment, refers to a few days ago.

Your statement about 2.5 years was at the beginning of your paragraph, nothing was at the end, I can see why I f'd up my post. I can't figure out why I remember (Academicness) History better than anyone else I know, (I know about everyone in my grade [More memory BS, remember the shit out of names]) but I can't remember ANYTHING from internet conversations over MSN, especially with Blake, Novasurf, and such, always forgetting those, and apparently, stuff like this.

This seems reasonable enough to me. Thankfully, I haven't had any problems along these lines. My father had one instance from out of nowhere one night when he was in his 50s, not to be repeated as far as I know. We spend a lot of time sleeping over the course of our lives and I don't think an occasional failure of one kind or another is impossible. We're not perfect, weird stuff happens when the exact right or wrong conditions come together.

I think you should have the tools to lock your own thread, but I haven't needed to for a while, so I can't be sure. If not, submit a post in the Requests forum and they'll take care of you.

For what it's worth, this is entirely possible. And it can be a self-perpetuating cycle. Something horribly stressful happens, and you can wet, then be stressed out about wetting, which can lead to more, and so on and so forth. I've had similiar experiences, though the actual stresses were much different, the jist of it is basicly the same.

stress-induced badwetting

There was a time when I could drink anything I wanted, eat anything I wanted, and stay up as late as I wanted, after having a rough day at work.


But over the last several months, it seems I can't do this. Even though I wear diapers to control a leaky bladder, Nothing that I try seems to help me from soaking my diapers and wetting my bed. I know that my job isn't very stressful, but I work with some real jerks that just get on my nerves, and just yesterday, I lost my job.

I've tried to cut down on drinking soda, and switched over to fruit juice,
thinking that this might eliminate accidents. Guess what ?!!! it only increased them. I thought that food consumption elimination at night might help fight wetness during the night. Wrong!!!

So I'm at a loss for ideas about my wetting the bed, I only have one more
idea : this bed wetting of mine has to be a result of stress.





Any ideas that you may have about this are always welcomed.

I'm sorry to hear about your job. That sucks!

I would try eliminating all fluids besides water if possible, and then cutting back on that a couple of hours before bed as long as you're not thirsty. Drinking lots of water during the day, though, will help sort of flush out your bladder and can sometimes even help you not pee so much. It's counter intuitive, but if you are drinking very little water and lots of sugary juice and soda, your urine will be more concentrated and is more likely to give you the feeling that you have to go before your bladder is very full. I find that when I drink lots of water and not much of anything else, I can hold it longer.

Also, is your place warm enough? Being cold at night can make you wet the bed.

Daria has a good suggestion here. Flushing your body out is healthy in general, but I've found that the more times you can "practice" peeing only when your bladder is full, the less chance you'll have an urge to pee when it's not full (i.e. if you haven't drunk before bed.) Water, water, and more water.
