Should minors be in the community?

I've been on Twitter and Tumblr, all I see is minors adding 18+ blogs that are sfw but I feel keeping it separate is the best choice. You have both minors and adults in this lifestyle, both should not add each other no matter the content. I'm writing this, because I honestly think this opens the gates of kids getting hurt by a pedophile and I don't want to see that happen at all. Give me your opinion, I would love to hear from you guys.

I think they should be separate because they're two different demographics mostly. The 18+ crowd tends to be overall more mellow and have a different vibe in my observations. Generally we're less dramatic than teenagers and have different world views and attitudes. As seen from some archived old ADISC threads. Not to say the two groups can't get along. It's just nice to have calm mature conversation at times you know?

From a legal standpoint as well, the separation can be good. Many parents of ABDL children may overreact and point fingers or even try to sue websites claiming perversion of their child. Especially if their kid is being told things like how to hide diapers from their parents or how to sneak packages inside of the house. I mean think about how we must look like to outsiders.

As for protecting them from pedophiles, separation won't do a thing. If someone has ill intentions an "18 and under only!" restriction isn't even a roadblock. A thief won't look at a closed sign and think "well gosh darn guess I won't be stealing today."

For the most part I think they should be kept separate. Minors could easily be exploited by unscrupulous adults. We can however share what we know without directly involving minors. For one, we could run afoul of parents, who report us to authorities, and that isn't good. We already have a reputation. Imagine how we would lookbif caught by parents.

Definitely not. Minors should be focused on figuring their lives out. If they are already exploring the abdl community my concern is they do not have a good mentor showing them how to navigate and deal with life.

Definitely shouldn't be. You need to remember that for many of us diapers and regressing are sexual fetishes. Just like BDSM or other fetishes. Minors in any sexual community is somewhat disgusting and a big legal threat for site owner and users.

But of course minors can use diapers and regress if they want, it's harmless and fun, but they should not register to any (abdl) forums etc. or especially post pics of themselves.
I agree with this. Minors should be focused on figuring their lives out. If they are already exploring the abdl community my concern is they do not have a good mentor showing them how to navigate and deal with life.
Many ABDL's find out themselves very early that they are ABDL's. And it's a good thing that they start to explore abdl things because they will accept themselves earlier. Accepting yourself is very important for good self-esteem and mental health and those two things are requirements to make good choices and deal with life. However I agree that minors should stay away from (registering to) discussion forums etc. for their own and others safety.

I'm gonna add my thoughts.

As a 13 year old boy, I started surfing the web in order to find some sense of my ABDL desires. I found the ABDL Community, and it helped me a lot, making friends with people who also liked to be babied and diapered. When I was 16, they helped me explain this to my parents in the form of a research. I must admit, I was very relieved to find out that I wasn't the only one. As I said, I was only 13.

However, due to legal stuff and obviously, the sexual nature, I think we should draw a line.

I don't see the term often anymore, but we used to call ourselves Teen Babies when were under 18. The community was open to anyone, no matter age. In the past years, it's been getting more and more closed off for adults only.

- - - Updated - - -

There are teenagers who struggle with ABDL. The way we decide to let them in or not in the community is the thing up to debate. Sadly, as people are very paranoic and hateful these days, it would be best for adults to not engage with minors. If parents or other people find out, it can get ugly.

We managed to coexist with minors on this site for years. It required good rules and a commitment to their safety through enforcement of those rules. We helped countless minors. It was not perfect. However, i believe the harm is already created by leaving children to fend for themselves.

This isn't just frustration for some, it is psychological trauma that can last into adulthood and risks up to and including suicide by a marginalized community with no one to talk to. There is no answer which will protect everyone. I favor engagement but under strict rules. In today's litigious society, I don't blame anyone for not taking that risk with a site but I still believe it is the moral thing to do.

The risk of exploitation is real. The risk of harm from keeping this bottled up is also real, and I believe more pervasive and a greater overall risk.

Specifically to the question you pose, I doubt Tumblr is the format for adults and minors to mix safely.

Agree with Trevor. Most of us have felt the ABDL desires for a while. I personally, as I said, started looking for answers when I was 13. I to would be unfair to deny minors the chance to let this out and be understood.

We should have rules for coexistance, but it should exist. We can't forsake them.

I never had a problems with minors in the community. I was one of them and then I turned into an adult. Then slowly they all turned to 18 plus. They had 18 and up only places and I never went to those because they were too NSFW. I went to places like Bravenet forum and Winz and Lil Vickie's place and I remember websites like lil princess tigger nursery and Lil vickie's page and Megan's Rowe's page. I even read Ashley's Diaper Adventure and I remember the author's personal website too.

I am not sure what changed but I think once more and more people got aware of ABDL, we started to make all places 18 plus because of the misconception. Even the stories have changed too. Now minor characters are seen as freaky now.

I didn't start participating in the community until I was 17. Back then it was not uncommon to find a lot of minors on ABDL forums and lot of ABDLs interacting with them. But times have changed now. Back in the 1990's there were 12 year olds lurking on ABDL forums and DPF had a teen forum too and I actually discovered ABDL at that age too. That was how I found Ashley's Diaper Adventures and I found message boards written by parents talking about their kids wearing diapers for bed wetting and letting them wear during the day too and seeing people talking about how good it feels to wake up in a wet diaper instead of in a wet bed and seeing parents talking about how their child always wanted to wear them so they got them some. As a child who like diapers, this is all thrilling to hear and you start to feel good about yourself than ashamed. I must say my parents were not happy when I showed my mother ADA and when she saw the webpages so she told me none of it was real. I am sure it was a lie but she didn't want me thinking it was all okay. But ADA was fiction alright.

But I can understand the no minors rule, it has to do with liability and the misconceptions about us so why feed into it? The minors can only just lurk and have to wait until they are 18 to participate in the community. We can't really keep minors out which is why I said they can only lurk. We have no control over who visits this page of we don't know who is behind the IP and who is using the forum.

As someone who remembers vaguely when the admins on here made the decision to close all accounts that were under 18, mine included at the time (Not sure what age I was, I probably lied anyway :dunno:).I’d say that it was kinda like a door was shut on my face at the time.

But looking back on it now I realize that it was probably the right thing to do as there are some real creeps out there that could’ve preyed on me or anyone else under 18 if I had actually taken the time to participate in discussions and not be the fraidy cat I was. It’s an interesting fine line that needs to be addressed because on one hand I can relate back to when I was under 18, I could’ve really used some help and guidance discovering myself. But on the other hand what site owner wants to be stuck with the bag, say child porn was discovered and have to sift through all that legal litigation in a courtroom. Especially when normies already think we’re weird to begin with so wonder who the judge would side with?

I’m not sure if there are many other forums that minors can actually participate in so I’m very berry sorry to all of you guys and gals. But I think In this day and age sticking with the “wait until your 18” policy is the best because it covers all of our asses.

No. Simple as. We get enough bad rep as consenting adults. If we allow minors that opens up a whole world of trouble. I was 12 when I started searching up on the Internet and found this site. Back then it was 13+ and when I turned 13 I made an account only for it to be changed to 18+ only a few months later. I waited patiently for 5 years to return. Minors should wait and enjoy their lives as actual children still. Figure out who they are. Then when they're 18 they can come join us if they want.

I feel bad for the younger folks who are ABDL. I really do, because there IS no safe outlet for it online.

Personally, I'm more than pleased to keep conversation PG, talk about what problems the youngsters are facing and offer any helpful advice. (I note that a LOT of the "I WANT TO BE IC!" stuff seems to be younger folks who might do something terribly rash without thinking through the consequences of their actions.)

Unfortunately, I can't for the life of me think of how that would be accomplished. There are just too many bone-headed adults who would rush in and start being perverse because it gets them off to post nasty descriptions on the internet. :p Or the youngsters would read someone's diaper fap fantasy and not be 'worldly wise' enough to realize that they were making it up. :p

Until they really are 18+, they should just "stay out", for their own safety.
Just my opinion.

I think you'd be surprised how well it worked. Again, there were problems to be resolved but it seemed to me like the mix brought out the best in minors and adults for the most part. I don't think a segregated forum is the best answer since an inexperienced environment tends to support some bad ideas that a little cold water from experience can frequently correct. With some kids, all they seemed to need was just a little interaction to turn them from despair or about to make some really bad decisions to being able to manage.

When I read Dan Savage talking about the origins of the "It gets better" YouTube effort, it struck me as very similar in terms of the perceived risks. The gay community had kept itself apart from doing much to assist gay minors because of the risk of appearing to be pedophiles. Going in to making those videos, they realized that they'd be tarred as pedophiles regardless and the most important thing was to help vulnerable kids with the message of hope. It's obviously not the same thing to be gay as ABDL and I don't think we're going to see famous and prominent ABDLs appearing in full face videos talking about how it gets better but we as a community used to be doing something and now we really aren't. I don't know how to fix it. I'm not willing to take the risk of having a site myself, so I'm also to blame. I firmly believe well run forums to help minors would do more harm than good for them but the risk of doing it is high due to the very real but I also think fairly small risks which are unfortunately magnified.

Kids can at least lurk and get some useful information and a sense that things are better for others. I hope that's enough.

The big problem with having minors on a site rests on the shoulders of the site owner(s) and administrators. If something goes terribly wrong, they're the ones who get sued or get a visit from the men in black. I wish there was a safe place that young TB/DLs could go, but the problem lies within social media.

It seems apparent to me that kids have problems on social media. Even adults have problems with it. Even our President can't seem to keep his little thumbs off the buttons at 3 in the morning, so one should assume that teens and pre-teens may not have the psychological tools developed to deal with spammers, bullies and worse, pedophiles.

That said, I began to understand that I was attracted to diapers by the age of four. When puberty it, I was definitely into it. There was no one I could talk to for all the obvious reasons. I was convinced I was some sort of freak. At least if a kid reads some of the threads on ADISC, they at least know that they're not alone, and they might even feel a sense of belonging to all of us, as to some degree, we are one big diaper family.

I totally agree with dogboy and many other of the previous posters on this question. Nothing stops teens/minors from reading anything on this site, and that can help them to handle some of their questions/insecurities. I also believe that teens/minors should not be allowed to interact on this site, for all of the aforementioned reasons. This to me is a no brainer.

Although it is window dressing, there are sites that require the user to verify their age even to enter. It is not a "fix all" but would it not provide an electronic trail of a minor that falsely came on to the site and then later claimed some harm?

Minors will always be part of the community, for the obvious reason that these desires start way earlier than the age of 18. As long as they don't go around advertising it openly or do something crazy like giving out their personal info or seeking IRL contact, there should be no problem. Let's be real, just about everyone has looked at porn before they were 18, and this is no different.

The law is the law and it takes only one parent to get this site closed. This is regardless of the fact that we write about being a 18+ community. I know webtechnologies are progressing, with a little work, Google, Microsoft or Facebook authentication can be used to logon. One of the things these organizations can do is deny a logon when a person is underaged. This also requires some work on the ADISC site but then you have a real protection against minors.

The question then is, do we want to allow minors access or not?
