Hey everybody, wondering if anybody else has run into this issue - I really prefer hook and loop style diapers - since I’m garbage at putting them on myself without readjusting a million times, I’ve taken a look at rearz before for diapers but most of theirs were sticky tape - that is until I found listings from them on Amazon that advertised hook and loop tapes instead - as well as product pictures of packaging with refastenable tapes being advertised.

But when I go to their actual website the same diapers seem to be only in sticky tape form - so what gives?

My fav diaper these days come from Rearz, they are the Mermaid Tales. Rated at 7000Ml of absorbency and really work well and they are hook and loop. I wear them at night then all day the next day and haven't had a leak yet and love being able to take them off and put them back on, they work so well...I love them

I'm pretty sure I've tried all of the Rearz diapers, and the only ones I've seen with hook and loop are Barnyard and Mermaid Tales

It's possible that some advertisers are calling tapes refastenable if they're sticky tapes on a landing zone as opposed to straight on the diaper shell. If so that would include most Rearz diapers, because the only ones I know of without a landing zone are:
  • Lil' Monsters
  • Lil' Squirts Splash
  • Safari
But my theory doesn't work if they're calling the Lil' Squirts Splash refastenable. Maybe they're referring to the doubled tapes as shown here on the Lil' Bella, where you can in theory use the second tape to refasten.

The dual layer sticky tabs is the conventional taping system used by many diaper manufacturers since the mid-1980s. Hook 'n' loop tabs do not have adhesive glue in their surface which is obsolete since they're made from velcro.

Sounds like the catch is in the semantics of “refastenable.” Majority of the Rearz products I know of employ the sticky tape with landing zone to justify that describer.

I also prefer the hook and loop style diapers as it is great to be able to fully remove the diaper without losing any adhesiveness, though I under stand the retro appeal of the tapes-to-landing zone diapers. They do seem more crinkly as well.
