i was surprised i could not seem to find a thread on this topic in the forum, i am sorry if it's not allowed. i just have no one to talk to about my feelings about this. i should preface this by saying i am not a diaperfur myself, but i love the abu hats and peekabu diapers with the little animals so hopefully we all have that in common hehe. however, i decided to post here because i am guessing there are people on this forum that know a lot more about diaperfur art than me.
ok so i thought this was a widely-discussed topic, but probably only in my chronically-online corner of the internet (i belong to many niche communities, for starters of course i am ABDL and i am also trans). background: there are a series of webcomics called assigned male. they have been running for a while, at least since 2013 as i remember. they are about a 13-or-so year old trans girl who is 'wise beyond her years' and talks about her experiences with gender, etc. i admit that the rhetoric of the comics could be rather heavy-handed at times, but i always liked them. well a little while back, it came out on twitter that the author of the assigned male comics, sophie labelle, draws diaperfur art. lots of people are now boycotting the comics. reasons are as follows (discourse about this is mainly posted on twitter too, for those interested in reading).
first of all, some people attacked her just for being into diapers, calling it "gross". this part was very disheartening to see. but also they are calling her a pedo because they said she used real-life kids as the model for her diaperfur pictures, showing examples of photos of kids that she drew from. some people say it's bad that she drew pictures using real kids as the model, some say it's fine. the biggest point that people took issue with was that the images look like sexualized images of children to them. for example she drew a puppy wearing a sagging diaper, where you can see the top of his bum and his tail is sticking out above the diaper. it was stated that normally in diaperfur art, the tail is shown sticking out of the back of the diaper, and people theorized she added this detail to 'show off his body' or something. i'm not including images in case they really are as racy as people are trying to say they are. but i really don't understand what's the problem with her art.
disclaimer: i do not in any way support the exposure of children to sexual content or the use of children for sexual content. i am abdl and strongly wish that people would not conflate the abdl fetish/interest with actual attraction to children. to me, abdl is about wanting to become like a child as an adult (or care for/be cared for by someone with those interests).
tl;dr: it's maybe because i am autistic (another niche community!), but i don't get what's wrong with sophie labelle's diaperfur art. people are cancelling her because they say she made sexualized images of children. can someone help me understand? is it true that the convention for diaper fur art is to draw the tail sticking out of the diaper? thank you for looking at my post.
