Porn a PutOff?

but a lack of government regulation and oversight has made it range from sketchy to downright illegal at times.
I'd say it's not so much a lack of regulation, but the fact that it's kind of a grey market/illegal industry depending on where you are. That kind of situation makes it very hard for individuals within the industry to stand up against bad practices.

Nope, you're probably just asexual. I'm kind of the same way (minus the weirdly strong feelings against it). I was 30 before I ever saw sex being performed (I was at a kink party, it's a long story), and even then my reaction was mostly just "oh, so that's what it looks like". There was no turn on from it whatsoever, but I do understand how people with sexualities other than mine can enjoy it.

No I'm not asexual - I adore other women

By "adore" do you also mean "find sexually attractive"?

As far as "traditional" pornography of people having sex with each other, I can't say I'm a fan (but then again, I'm asexual). However, as many of us can attest, "pornography" is a completely subjective term. A simple picture of an adult wearing a shirt and diaper is enough to sexually arouse many people. A drawing of a human or even a furry wearing the same can also be sexually arousing for specific audiences. By the sole definition of material which merely elicits individual sexual arousal, I can't honestly say I'm anti-pornography, except when it's illegal, obviously.

Of course there's a lot of exploitation within the adult film industry and action should be taken to prevent and rectify that, but I'd argue it's as misguided to condemn the *entirety* of the medium as it would be to condemn all NON-pornographic films because of incidents of exploitation and abuse in Hollywood, or to take it to another extreme, even to condemn the entirety of world religion because of the Catholic sex abuse scandals. I may not indulge in that kind of pornography myself, but to me, that just feels like cutting off a hand to fix a hangnail.

I don't get aroused by ABDLI+ associated drawings
...hopefully I'm in no minority there.

I hate porn, too. It cheapens, demeans and destroys. And it has nothing whatsoever to do with love.
I hate porn, too! Disgusting and rather stupid, almost to the point of humorous! But some people NEED to see the act to instigate a feeling within themselves, like watching a comedy show to loosen up after the day...I guess. Why do priests ....never mind.

Well, it's okay to look into priesthoods and the convents and see what's wrong there. There are documented sexual abuses and issues in those orders and it's something that both the churches and society on the whole need to examine and think about. Love is a holy thing, too, and there are so many different kinds of--and ways to--love. Whatever gives certain entities the right to restrict love by virtue of capacity, office or belief is irrational, unreasonable and damaging...with the stark exception of those who say sexual love is okay between an adult and child, for one to have multiple spouses, between immediate blood or people and animals. No...way. To hell with those.

I think all holy offices need to seriously rethink their credos & codes and make love, marriage and sexuality a matter of personal volition and preference.

I'm not aroused by cartoons myself, but the overwhelming quantity of higher-quality ABDL artwork spread across the internet - including paid sites like CushyPen - lead me to believe it has to reflect an not-insignificant percentage of interest and desire. Heck, the mere existence and prevalence of Rule 34 proves cartoon art has an erotic appeal to many.

Granted, I'd believe a majority of ABDL and related art is made without erotic intent, but I couldn't believe a majority of its consumers don't find it erotic. When I'm browsing through ABDL artwork and see detailed depictions of wetting or omorashi or diaper changes or whatever, I definitely feel I'm in a minority of people who are foremost focusing on the artistic quality and technique.

TOTALLY agree. I hate it and cannot understand how anyone watching it can have any respect for women's or their own body.
You do understand that being a feminist is about allowing women to chose what they want to do with there bodies right? That includes sex work.
And sex work includes porn.

I respect women generally but I watch porn, and as a woman I find it totally understandble where you are coming from, the porn industry has not been kind to women, it is an industry that has exploited its workers and exploited innocent people in the name of cash and perversion.

But imo that all is somewhat changing, esp with things like onlyfans and pornhubs new policy, they deleted TONS of content posted to there website. That could have been Sex traffiking, CP, and revenge porn. And OnlyFans the uploader is the "actor" they control there own distrubution of content and the profits made from said content.

I totally agree that sex industry in general gets way bigger when people need the cash, and isnt based purley on someone "living there best life, and doing the job they love" but hey thats not the viewers fault thats an economic issue.

Porn can be a fun way to explore sexual fantasies and ideas, as long as said porn is consensual and ethical (as it can be esp if its filmed by a production agency)

How? I'm not a lawyer. Don't be so friggin stupid.
You cant ask for peoples opinions and then when it differs go "oh well it doesnt matter if we disagree not like I can make all you think the same GOSH opinions dont matter"

like dude you literally asked for peoples opinions calm down and dont call others stupid because they wanna jerk off or rub one out.

I think many people have made great points, sex work should be destigmatized as this horrible thing, because esp since this thing puts food on many peoples tables without coercion.

NOW yes porn can be harmful, like any form of "drug" for instance I viewed it from a very very young age and the literally messed me up for a long time, it was just a way to escape from abuse. It felt nice. But thats not porns fault thats my parents for not being there for me.

This feels like when people blame videogames for kids shooting up schools which we all know is BS so lets not blame porn people

I wish I had never started looking at porn. more people need to realise that it's an addiction and stop pushing it as a good thing.
It was really showing when pornhub removed amateur videos and all the coomers were up in arms with anger

I have never looked at porn. No interest in it. For old, and impotent men.
I am totally against it and I imagine you are now?

There will unfortunately always be a demand for it, but I totally agree. It definitely cheapens the personal thrill and passion of sex. It also leads you down a slippery slope, you start becoming desensitized to something that would of been taboo on the first view, which leads you to looking at even more taboo stuff until nothing does anything for you anymore.

I look at kinda like banning hate speech, it seems like a very reasonable thing to do, however, there is usually an issue as to what is defined as hate speech and who gets to define it. The same can be said for porn. For example, I have heard of people getting visits from law enforcement for sending pictures of their naked babies to family, something that is supposed to be innocent. Some places ban nude art work. Porn can be blanket label for many things that might not really be sexualized, but are like dude imagery.
I am not a big supporter of most porn, I like some stuff, I think I only own one porno video and that was more of a novelty as it was a porno version of Clockwork Orange.

Hi adair
Don't you think your tone is a little bit rough? It's perfectly fine that you don't like porn. And it's also fine that you reeeeeally don't like porn. But as you can see some people here (as million other people) enjoy porn. You can say: I can't understand this but if you say: "Porn is for old, and impotent men" (after several arguments have already been exchanged), some people might find this rude.
We all like diapers here. If someone around me would notice that I like/wear diapers and after I explained her/him the reasons and she/he says: I don't understand. I'm cool with this. But if she/he says: Your sick, your sooo sick you need to the doctor or prison, I'm not cool with it. You see what I mean? And I don't want to say diapers are the same as porn. This is not my point. My point is to answer the question: What is an appropriate response to something that you really don't understand and that you find really weird?

@nano2013:
I see your point and I definitely agree that something like this can happen. But I don't think that has to happen inevitably. You can lose yourself to porn as you can lose yourself to diapers as a diaper lover or to another fetish. But I think a "responsible consumption" of porn can also be possible. What I mean whit this is for example: My girlfriend and I enjoy together our sexual intercourse. However, my sexual drive is higher than hers and I have a diaper fetish. What speaks against putting on a diaper and masturbating in it or watching porn and masturbating? Provided that I do not neglect the sex life with my girlfriend.
