I couldn't help but just notice that I'm not the only one here to write about a terrible run. Must be one of those weeks.

It happened yesterday morning. I walked into the pharmacy I usually go to to get my diapers, just like any other time and they didn't happen to have anything worthwhile (Tena Supers aren't that super) so I spent a little while looking.

I'm not sure why but for some reason, I felt like I was being watched by the prescription providers and the cashiers. The place was completely empty so it had to be them but still, it was the first time that really happened. I'm normally not even phased by this kind of thing. Maybe my nerves were catching up on me.

I ended up running to another pharmacy further away and was almost late catching my bus to school, but I'm a little weirded out from that experience. Anybody else ever have a nervous/stress attack out of the blue on a diaper run?

Samehere, every time I go into a pharmacy, they act like I'm going to rob the place or something.

I've gotten pretty laid back about buying them in stores, but the time before last, there was a woman stocking the shelves right in that area and it was a bit much. I want to be able to have a look at the selection and not have to be assisted while doing so (actually, this reaction is not limited to diaper purchases, I feel that way about most everything). I looked around elsewhere in the store for a bit, and then coming back to the next aisle, I heard her talking with customers, leaving me to walk around further while grumbling to myself. I finally came back and just got what I needed without much evaluation while she was showing the other customers where to find whatever it was that they couldn't locate on their own.

The whole thing probably only delayed me five minutes and I found some almonds on sale while I was walking around, but it seemed like more than that and it was annoying.

KWYM there, Pojo! I've felt that way many times when I walk out of the store empty handed because they didn't have what I was looking for. Feels like all the security cameras are aimed at me.:sweatdrop:

What a steal! I wasn't aware there was more than one moon near here, or that you could package them all and put them in a can. Or jar. Was it a jar? Tell me it wasn't. It's so hard to get all of the moons out of a jar.

sounds like me, haha. sometimes i'll go to 2 or 3 different pharmacies before i decide on something, (i'm looking for good values:) ). I hate when they start staring, especially if i'm in there for 10 min. or so and dont buy anything....i tend to get even MORE looks if i decide to come back an hour later, haha

This one time at a wallgreens I had boughten a pack of the store brand fitted briefs because I thought they were plastic backed but upon getting to my car I realized they weren't. So I went back in (very determined) got a different pack and then went to the checkout. The guy checking me out gave me a whole bunch of weird looks and then very slowly went about the whole return process by the time he finnished there was line of about 5 people behind me. It didn't really matter because I was in a different town but still was kind of sketchy

Oh god I get that feeling even WHEN I'm buying something. The shop owners honestly make you feel like that with all the high-tech cameras hanging around and the mirrors on the ceiling to check in your pockets for stolen goods. What a horribly capitalistic time we live in nowadays

yeah, you talk about how the pharmacy people make you nervous.

what if your best friend works at the pharmacy and can see everything you need?

yeah he knows which meds I take, and is working there daily, so I'm not even going to THINK about buying diapers there.

I've never really had that much of a problem with it. What nerves I do get manifest as an adreniline rush, making buying stuff a really good feeling. I love the rush. I do know what you mean about feeling everyone is looking at you, but to some degree, that feeling makes it all the more worthwhile. I don't purposely set out to get this rush, but I get it every time and it is fantastic.

I have never freaked out like that. However, I really do no what you mean about people looking at you. I get that feeling too. The hard bit was keeping my cool when someone came up to help me! Luckily I had a preprepared excuse (grandparent) so I get out of it without too many scratches.

Oh yes, I know what you mean. Sometimes I definitely feel like I'm being observed while in a pharmacy and it is a little unsettling. Generally speaking, the rush that follows is worth it though. Nonetheless, it can be a little awkward, especially when you walk out without buying anything. It's as if as a teenager you are automatically a suspected thief. On the other hand, when I'm not buying diapers, I do not feel this unsettling feeling, so I think its definitely more psychological than anything.

Try having friends that work at most stores in town.

I think pharmacy workers aren't used to young people walking in. The times I've had to go in I've gotten some strange or suspect looks from them, as if I were there to steal something. It's rather annoying being discriminated because of my age, but just because I'm young doesn't mean I'm excused from illness.
