I specifically remember my mom doing that when I was in diapers. I wish my wife would do it, but she’s still a little stand off’ish with it.

I was at work when a coworker asked me why I always pay my butt. That’s how I check how wet I am. I told her I never noticed it.

My mom and aunt used to do that when I was still little in diapers. They both patted my diapered bottom while cuddling me when I was tired to help me fall asleep or to calm me down when I was fussy. I don’t know why, but just sound and feel was heaven. It was one of the things I missed when I was potty trained. Now sometimes I pat my own diapered bottom at night to help me fall asleep
