Welcome and be welcomed to ADISC!
Even with the newer cabs with air ride equipment the profession is hard on the body! Yup, I can also see the advantages of DL and over the road Trucking!
Enjoy!

My Pete 379exhd sits next to my house till the rates make it worth putting back on the road. It’s a triaxle dump truck not as much fun to turn around in town as a tractor trailer but loaded I’m only 10k less

I have been in plenty of spots where it has been fun to turn around. But i don't own my equipment just for the fact rates are too low for O/O.

Yeah I bought the truck in late 21 before fuel went through the roof. I knew the truck needed some stuff to get back through inspection because I drove it for the guy I bought it from. Didn’t have the cash at the moment and wife was pregnant and dump trucking is slow in the winter so ended up putting off fixing things. Once fuel got crazy I decided there is no rush to get it straight and I’ll get to it when I get to it. That’s currently where I am still at

Even back in 21 i knew. Just that downhill stretch right now. Eventually things will be good for everything as long as the mega carriers, fmcsa, and government quit trying to run the small guy/ girl out. I know how it is during winter months. That's for any construction type job. Just depends on the contract and weather. Where are you based out of?

I’m on eastern shore of Maryland so I was hauling sand to the western shore for the concrete plants and bringing stone back. Also did some local hauling and what not. I do landscape and site work stuff so there are jobs where it would be nice to have the truck but not quite enough to justify registration yet. DOT has been busy in the last several months around here and depending on who you get it they can really be a pain

For one, that would be any DOT in any state. Any big truck that needs fixes, always comes with a hefty price tag. Not cheap fixing equipment. Ever thought about running company till you get your truck running?

I keep busy enough working for myself and another landscaper to get by. I do a wide variety jobs pretty much anything out doors. I also can fall back into the trash industry as I’m know locally for my work ethic. If I had my truck on the road I still probably wouldn’t run it every day
